Review: Kiss Nail Dress Stickers

I received this Kiss Nail Dress Fashion That Sticks Nail sticker things in one of my monthly beauty boxes a while ago and have decided to give it a go, as I did not have any gelish on.

It claims to lasts up to 10 days and "on in minutes, off in seconds without remover". It came with 28 strips in 14 sizes, a design booklet (which I threw out) and a nail file.

Contents of the box
Nail strips
To simply put it, this product is a dud. Here are my reasons why:
  1. There weren't enough nail strips that fit my nails! That means that I only had enough to do one hand or a few of my nails will not be properly covered.
  2. It did not last 10 days. I think it lasted about 2 days on my nails before they got ruined - the tips were lifting. I got really annoyed by the little gems because there were few that ended up on the very tip of my nails, and they would lift and break off.
  3. It was so awkward trying to fold the stickers down to file them off. As you can see in the picture below, I filed my nail right down, and so the stickers ended up sticking to my skin. It was just majorly awkward trying to file the stickers off and trying so desperately hard not to file off my skin as well.
  4. I think my nails were slightly damaged after peeling off the stickers, but not bad enough not to leave my nails bare. Although, I've heard worst stories where people actually had to paint their nails after because the nail stickers had completely ruined their nails.
  5. Not a big fan of the design. Dad even commented on the weirdness of my nails... I think the exact words were "What did you do to your nails?!" He wasn't impressed :P
Straight after application
I'm glad to have had the opportunity to try this out and form my own opinion but I would never re-purchase these stickers. I do have another kiss nail dress that has the same design, but in silver with white, pink, green, pink, blue and purple jems, but I'm not sure if I even want to try it... I don't know what to do with it! :(

Clothing haul for the week

So as promised, here's my clothing haul for the week! All of these were bought online. I can't actually remember the last time I bought a piece of clothing from a shop front (besides Europe).

Starting off with Bras N Things... They had a 50% off swimwear promotion, and free shipping for orders over $50. The swimmers I bought were actually featured in the email I got notifying me of their specials. I fell in love with it immediately, and had to get it. Although I did "sit on it" for about half a day before deciding to bite the bullet and shell out $35 for it.
It's still on special, so you can click here to steal the deal! It was the thought of frolicking on the beach in Maldives that made me want to buy this swimmers... By the way, I think we're about 95% sure we're going to Maldives in March (if you're new to my blog, I blogged about my Maldives or US dilemma here). Thank you for commenting on whether I should go to Maldives or US. I think everyone were for Maldives!

Anyway, about this swimmers.... It's a playboy brand. I don't normally like going for playboy brands because I associate it with Hugh Hefner and then I shiver and get massively turned off. But I fell in love with these swimmers before I even knew it was playboy branded.

To take advantage of the free delivery, I decided to put a bra in my cart. I chose the "Shontelle" Water Push Up Bra, which was going for $20 (just checked, and it is still $20 but sizes are extremely limited).
This bra has some serious padding, which is great because unfortunately I wasn't very blessed in that department. I've ordered from Bras N Things online multiple times and shipping is always extremely fast. The only con about Bras N Things is that I can't update my rewards card, although I can always take the receipt into a store and get points put on my rewards card (but talk about massive effort)...

The next purchase was from eBay. One of my favouritestest shorts from Lonsdale, which I had for a few years now, had a stain which would not come off. So I went on eBay to see what I could pick up to replace it (Mike, if you're reading this... see?! It's justifiable!), as Lonsdale apparels are so ridiculously expensive. My sister, Pris, who used to live in England told me that only chavs (equivalent of bogans here) wear Lonsdale, and they're cheap as chips... except I didn't see ANY Lonsdale stores when I was there.

I picked this pair of shorts up for $19.50 delivered. It was brand new with tags - RRP: $49.95. Talk about bargain hunting! The seller actually vacuum sealed these shorts and put them in a big envelope. I thought that was an odd/unique way of packaging clothes... wish I took a picture (damn my eagerness for prezzies in the mail!)

I also purchased a top from an Ozsale sale for $12 delivered. It's from Abercrombie & Fitch (one of my favourite brands).
When I saw it, I thought it was such an elegant/casual/pretty top that will be great for the hot summery days to come. If you would like to become an Ozsale member (it's free), click here! I do get a $10 Ozsale voucher when you make your first purchase.

The next purchase was from Mossimo during the clickfrenzy sale day. From memory (my memory is rather poor, so don't quote me on it), they had 40% off storewide with free delivery, no minimum spend. I thought this was a pretty good deal, and purchase a top for $14.97.
It's meant to be a sleepwear top... does it look like one? Would you wear it out?

Last but not least, I purchased a dress from Roxy, which set me back $34.99 (free delivery). I purchased a size 6 because that's my usual size... and OMG it was so tight around the waist but oh-so-pretty. Although I managed to button up all the buttons, I felt too uncomfortable and decided that had to return it via post to get the next size up. The fit of the size 8 is much, much better.
I absolutely love the pastel colours in this dress, and I can't wait to wear it!

I hope you enjoyed my clothing haul! Have a great weekend everyone! :)

I have a dilemma...

I have a dilemma. To go to Maldives or to the US? It may be quite a simple decision for you to make, but both destinations have its pros and cons.

The plan was to jet off to Maldives from Singapore, as I will be there for my granddad's 90th birthday in May. However, being high maintenance, I really want a beach or water villa. I want to be able to walk out and see the water or the beach, and not have to walk like 123792169312km (obvious exaggeration... but you get what I mean) to get to the beach. If not, I don't really benefit from going to the Maldives as I live across the road from a golf course, which surrounds a beach and can see the sea from outside my house. The cheapest beach or water villas are about $700 a night (inclusive of taxes and whatever crazy fees), and because of the high rates, I'm thinking two nights will suffice. I was set for this plan until my dad came along and said that he has a week's worth of timeshare that we can use. Unfortunately, the timeshare company does not have a place in Maldives, or I'll be all up for it.

Gorgeous Maldives... Talk about ultimate relaxation! - Image Source
However, the timeshare company has accommodation in the US. But it'll cost a fortune if I wanted to fly from Singapore to the states compared to if I flew from Sydney to the States. The pros of going to the states would be being able to shop at Sephora (but then again, I can always get a freight forwarder). The cons would be me spending more money that I don't have, and the flights... and the possibility of having to hire a car.

Sephora... where my materialistic needs are satisfied... - Image Source
I thought about going to Hawaii, but the bf isn't too keen (plus flights will still be expensive). He said he has heard it "isn't too crash hot", and then he reminded me that I've always wanted to visit Maldives... But I love Sephora, and Forever 21, and Victoria Secret, and Abercrombie & Fitch, and Walmart... and I'll be extremely broke if I do ever set foot on US soil.

So, what do you reckon I should do?!

EDIT: Just thought of another pro for US... My dream (apart from going to Maldives) is also to visit ALL the Disneylands in the world. I haven't been to the one in Florida yet...

What the postman brought me today: MUA & BeautyBay Haul

I hope you guys are not bored of my haul series of "What the postman brought me today" because I still have quite a few more stuff that's coming my way (hopefully soon, I'm quite impatient when it comes to prezzies in the mail!).

Today's haul is mainly from MUA and Beautybay. There were some clothes as well, but as I mentioned in my previous post, I will leave the clothing haul for the weekend. I also received some Christmas prezzies for some people who I know read my posts, so I will be omitting those out as well.

I shall start with MUA first because they have a 35% discount right now with free shipping... SO GO SHOPP!!!! If you're broke like me, fear not because I will have a giveaway soon (when I have money to post the prizes out).

I didn't take many pictures because I kind of want to keep this post short... and my camera's memory card is running out of space!

This is what I bought from MUA:
  • MUA Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit
  • MUA Blush - Shade 2 & 4
  • MUA Lipstick in Shade 14 Bare
  • MUA Nail Polish - Amaretto Crush & Pistachio Ice Cream
  • MUA Mega Volume Mascara in Black Waterproof
  • MUA Extreme Felt Eyeliner in Black
  • MUA Kiss Proof Lip Stain in Fabulicious
  • MUA Shimmer Kisses Blush & Bronzer
I have something missing from this haul because it's meant to be a christmas present to someone, but the whole lot set me back £16.25 (~AUD$24.88) after the 35% discount. BARGAIN!

Next haul was from BeautyBay.com...
  • Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray (LOVE this stuff)
  • Urban Decay Brow Box in Brown Sugar
  • Nails Inc Colour Collection
I had a 15% discount voucher and the whole lot set me back £48.62 (~AUD$74.51).

Anyway, QUICK GO SHOP AT MUA BEFORE THE SALE ENDS!!! The promo code to use at the checkout is MUA35.

What the postman brought me today: Cosmetics Organizer

The postman actually brought me more than a cosmetics organizer today. Besides the Lust Have It box, he brought me some clothes as well. But I think I'll do a collective post at the end of the week because I tend to rave more on cosmetics and accessories.
Anyway, this is what the packaging of the cosmetics organiser looks like...

I purchased this from Ozsale for $14. If you would like an invitation to Ozsale, click here. I do get a $10 when you make your first purchase, so please buy something! I'm broke and I NEED to buy something or I'll dieeee.... Please?

It has three compartments at the back for brushes and other tall and slim items, a longer section (width wise) for things that don't quite fit in the three compartments, five lipstick slots at the front, and a drawer underneath.

I've fitted most of what I use in my everyday makeup routine... not that I use all five lip products or three blushes at one time.

Filled cosmetics organiser with drawer pulled out.
Yes, I only use two brushes for my everyday face routine, and a gazillion eye products (none of which consists of eyeshadows).

Anywho... I think this cosmetics organizer is pretty nifty! I am currently using little plastic drawers that I bought from Kmart & Target for storing my other makeup items...

That's what mine looks like, and I have two stacked - one of top of the other, and then another two, side by side (next to the stacked ones). I'd take a picture but my table is embarrassingly messy, and I'm too lazy to clean up after myself. It's definitely a cheaper option to purchasing the really expensive acrylic makeup boxes (e.g. from the make up box shop), as they cost about $8 each.

I would love to replace all my plastic drawers with with acrylic makeup boxes though, as it looks a heap more nicer. But I don't think that'd be happening anytime soon, as my love for purchasing makeup is greater.... Woe is me.

Lust Have It - November 2012

I have finally gotten my hands on lust have it's November edition! Yay! From the info card, it looks like this month's the last month that we'll be getting make-up bags. I hope their "new range of collectible packaging" will be as useful as these make-up bags. I've been using them to store unopened make-up - e.g. putting new mascaras in one bag, powders in another, etc.

This month's "theme" is summer-ready and party-gorgeous. I am still undecided on whether or not the products given suit this month's theme. You be the judge, and let me know in the comments what you think! :)

1. Lomasi cucumber aloe body creme 30ml (RRP: $22.95 for 236ml)
This body creme smells amazing! I actually quite like cucumber scented products, they kind of remind me of cherries for some strange reason. I think this product would've been handy in winter, as I get reeeeeally dry skin in winter, not so much summer.

2. Davroe Moisture Senses Argan Oil - full size (RRP: $23.95 for 50ml)
I'm pretty sure this is full size. This product is a bit of a dud for me, as I've already got one from a previous box (I'm not sure which one), and I didn't find it all that moisturizing. Anyone want to trade?

3. ModelCo Fibre Lashxtend Mascara - full size (RRP: $28)
Like their lipglosses, this mascara has a mirror on the side! Handy dandy! It is a new release which is great, as I love trying out new things that I can't afford (In case you don't know, I'm so broke after not having worked for two months and splurging non-existent money on Sephora & Clarisonic goodies). LHI gets a brownie point for this! :)

4. Star&Rose Hologram Tweezer - full size (RRP: $9.95)
This tweezer has holographic flowers on it, and I can stare at it all day going "OOooooo... sparkley". But the truth is, I'm a bit of a tweezer snob. Ever since I owned a pair of tweezerman tweezers, I haven't found one that works better (or even as well), but I will definitely keep this aside just in case I lose my tweezerman (which happens quite often...).

5. Face Of Australia Purifying Cleansing Wipes - full size (RRP: $4.95 for 25 wipes)
I have these wipes in my cupboard! I haven't used it yet though :( I got them on special at Big W when they had one of their $3 of FoA products, so I ended up paying $1.95 for it! BARGAIN! Anyway, you can never have enough cleansing wipes... Although how it'll help you get party-gorgeous, I have no idea... Why would you want to remove your makeup before going to a party in the summer months? :-s

LHI has also included a buy-one-get-one-free pass to see Liberal Arts, which is nice. I haven't been to the movies in ages, because I'm tight like that. I can't justify paying >$10 to see a movie, when I can put that money towards makeup...

Overall, this month's is a bit of a hit and miss as well. Although, I think LHI has improved since the last few months of dud boxes. Looking forward to what they have got installed next month... CHRISTMASSSS!!! I love Christmas... mmm... presents...

BellaBox - November 2012

Woohooo! The postman who drives the van and delivers bulky packages finally came! I decided to write a new post instead of continuing on my previous post (read here) because BellaBox deserves it's own post (it's tradition!).

Anyway, on to what I received in my Bellabox...

1. Ocean Essence Gold Eye Cream - full size (RRP: $39.95 for 15ml)
I'm actually disappointed that I got this eye cream instead of the face mask or face exfoliant. I don't have problems with eye bags and it has never been a concern for me, so I don't actually think I'll use it :(

2. Organicspa Face Exfoliant 7g (RRP: $32.95 for 75g)

Yay! An exfoliant! I love exfoliants if you haven't figured that out already, so I'm happy to get this and will be slotting it into my face cleansing routine (if I remember to take this to the bathroom).

3. Palmolive Luscious Mango Body Butter Body Wash 50ml (RRP: $6.49 for 400ml)
BellaBox says this is "good enough to eat"... They're so right! This smells DELICIOUS! I think I'll have to pick this up next time there's a good special on (because I'm tight like that).

4. Bloom Glitter Liquid Eyeliner in Star Struck - full size (RRP: $14.95 for 4g)
I got this in one of my Lust Have It boxes. I wasn't impressed when I received it then, and I'm still not impressed. At least I got a different colour... I will probably use it for nail art.

5. 4me Nail Polish Remover Pads - full size (RRP: $3.49 for 30 pads)
I've been using the Bloom ones and they aren't too great. So I'm interested to see how effective these are at removing polish! Will definitely do a comparison between the two soon!

6. Swisse Hand Cream with Vitamin D and Pomegranate 30ml (RRP: $14.95 for 100ml)
My brother has this! If it's good enough for my brother (who has EXTREMELY expensive taste... he wanted to buy a $500 sweater in summer... err.. hello? why would you need a sweater in summer), it's good for me!

7. Bioderma Sebium H20 Cleansing Water 20ml (RRP: $29.95 for 250ml)
Also received this in a previous Lust Have It box. It's great for travels. I took mine to Singapore and Europe, and it was handy in removing eyeliner when I made booboos (which was quite frequently... still is...).

Overall, I'm semi-impressed with this month's box. It has some good products and some meh products. Like always, I'm super excited to see what Bellabox has got installed for next month... CHRISTMAS ZOMFG!!! PRESENTS... *composes self*... yes... so I can't wait... Abrupt ending here (I seem to do that quite often, my apologies), I smell DINNER!!!

What the postmen brought me today... MASSIVE HAUL!

Holy josephine! The postMEN brought me a crap load of things today. So many that I have no idea where to start. I took so many photos that my camera memory card ran out of memory (but then again, I didn't have much memory left to begin with).

See what I mean? WHERE DO I START?!
After much contemplation and umm-ing and ah-ing, I've decided to go in order that I received them.

The regular postman in the bright yellow jacket and motorbike came by first a few hours ago. He dropped off two satchels.

The first satchel that I opened (only because I knew what the other satchel contained from the name of the sender) was from Avene!

They sent me a sample of the Micellar Lotion Cleanser and make-up remover.

The other satchel was from DSK Steph's blog sale.
L-R: OPI Spark de Triomphe, OPI Berlin There Done That, OPI Rainbow Collection
I can see my bf sighing and shaking his head when he sees this post (his disapproval makes me giggle for some strange reason)... I can't help buying nail polish... pretty colours.... mmm sparkly...

Steph also gave me two lollipops, which I will probably give to the bf so he doesn't cancel my credit card... lollies are great bribery tools. :P

The next postman was from FedEx. I FINALLY got my parcels from the US (via hopshopgo - more deets at the end of the post). I have been waiting rather impatiently for two parcels from Sephora and one from SkinStore.com. I can't actually remember which parcel I opened first because all I remember was that I nearly peed myself in excitement and the rest was a blur.

I'm going to show what I got from the skinstore...

That's right kiddies... ANOTHER CLARISONIC!! But this time, a Clarisonic Aria. Boy oh boy, I've been wanting one of these bad boys ever since it came out a few months ago, and when I found a $50 off coupon code, I was a goner. The RRP is USD$199. You may be wondering, what the hell are you going to do with TWO clarisonics? Well, I'm going to leave this at the bf's because he doesn't like his granite (or whatever stone it is) benchtop wet, and since the aria has a charging stand, it'll be perfect there (well, that's my excuse anyway)...

Contents of Clarisonic Aria
It also came with a 30ml Refreshing Gel Cleanser not pictured because the orange and white info card is covering it.

Charging Clarisonic Aria
It can be charged via USB... How cool is that?! Yes, I'm one of those people who falls for gimmicky things like that... Don't judge!

I also bought me a Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings kit for USD$19 because I needed to take it over the $200 mark to get the $50 coupon to work. Mike, if you're reading this... It's a NECESSITY...hence very justifiable!
Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings
Contents of Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings

In the Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings, I received a LashGasm mascara (3.9ml), Shadow Insurance (5g), Glamour Gloss (2.9ml), Lip Insurance (3.5g), and Primed and Poreless (5g).

Anyway, enough skinstore porn... Because now I've got some sephora pornage for you! I'll start with the freebies.

I'm a Sephora VIB from my trip to LA last year. Unfortunately, I have not spent enough to retain my VIB membership this year (unless my sister uses my card, as she's in the states at the moment... that lucky biznitch!). In case you're wondering, you have to spend $350 a year to get VIB membership...
The point of me rambling about VIB membership was because I took advantage of one of their offers which was to choose one of three bags when ordering online, and I chose this bag called "Make It Last".
Sephora Make It Last Complimentary Bag
I received:
  • Sephora makeup bag
  • Lancome Hypnose Star mascara (4ml)

Amazing value for a bag that's free!

I also got other freebies/samples as well...
  • Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer (5g) - I actually redeemed some of my VIB points for this
  • Lancome Bienait Multi-vital SPF30 Sunscreen (15g) - I'm not sure where this came from, I don't remember picking this as a sample? :-s
  • Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts Oil Free Moisturizer (2ml)
  •  Lancome LA Base Pro - Perfecting Make Up Primer (1ml)
  • REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate (2ml)
  • Murad Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30 (0.9ml)

I bought a few of the Sephora's favourite kits. I'm a sucker for kits because they offer such great value! The first kit is the Sephora Favorites In The Glow kit...

  • Brush
That's all I got for now. I'm still expecting another postman to come by - the one that delivers bulk items in a van. I hope my BellaBox comes today because I'm going to the bf tonight and won't be back till Wednesday!

Before I finish, I would like to inform you about HopShopGo (because I'm an informative person... sometimes). HopShopGo is a company that is backed by paypal, so you can pay for delivery charges via paypal. I think this is one of the three advantages of using this parcel forwarder. The second advantage being if it is your first time using them, and you find their shipping costs too high, they will ship the parcels back to the store for free and absorb any re-stocking fees that the store may charge. However, the shipping charges are quite ridiculously expensive. The third advantage is that the address you send your parcels to are in Oregon, and so no taxes!

However, it costs about USD$88 to ship all three boxes to me. I'm glad I didn't have to pay any postage for both Sephora and SkinStore to send my parcels to HopShopGo. I'm currently on the look out for another parcel forwarder. I have my eyes set on myus.com, but the only downfalls are their $10 membership charge,  non-paypal payments and their address is in florida (although you can request for an address in one of the few tax-free states, I can't remember which one).

I hope that was useful, and if you have questions at all in regards to HopShopGo, please feel free to in the comments or on twitter or facebook.
