NOTD: Christmasy nails!

I was playing around with nail polishes because I am really indecisive when it comes to choosing a colour. I finally settled on a red but wanted to paint some more, so I added a layer or two of golden (greenish in certain angles) flakies. It was then that I realised it looked very christmasy.

I really need to purchase a macro lens, as these photos do NOT do my NOTD justice.

L-R: Essie After Sex, Essie Luxeffects Shine Of The Times, China Glaze Luxe and Lush
These were the polishes I used. I applied a base coat (Orly bonder, not pictured), two coats of Essie After Sex, one coat of China Glaze, one coat of Essie Luxeffects, and a few top coats (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, not pictured).

The reason why I applied two different flakies was because I wasn't satisfied after applying China Glaze's Luxe and Lush. It was still lacking a little something, so I dug around and found my Essie Luxeffects. China Glaze has got bigger flakies than Essie, and is less holographic-y. I think what made my NOTD really look completed was the holographic-y flakie finish. If I had to pick between the two flakie polishes, I'd definitely pick the Essie one (although the China Glaze is quite pretty as well... see? indecisiveness!).

Essie After Sex is a deep red polish with a bit of shimmer. I was quite tempted to leave it as is... but boredom happened...

My sister, Priscilla, saw my nails when she came over for dinner and she was really impressed and wanted to get her nails done in the same colours too!

Hopefully this has inspired you to layer with your current nail polish stash to create a great Christmasy manicure!
