December Empties

Since I'm not going anywhere for New Years tonight, as the BF is still in Tasmania and my friends are AWOL, I thought I'd write up a couple of blog posts and schedule for them to be published later.

It feels like I haven't finished up many products this month. I have FINALLY used up some of the little sachets that I keep getting in my beauty boxes when I went to Tasmania, but unfortunately I was in a rush packing things and kept forgetting to take pictures of them before I used them up. They were all face wash sachets and they weren't anything to write home about. The brands I used were Dermalogica Tricleanse, Nivea (I think) and Palmers. I don't think I'd purchase any of them, as they didn't appeal to me scent wise nor did I find them particularly effective.

Now onto the products that I actually took pictures of...

1. Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner
Excuse the awful picture. I took it with my iPhone and the bathroom light wasn't the best... This conditioner was a bit of a let down. I didn't think it moisturized my hair at all. I'm glad I only purchased only one bottle when I was in UK. On the plus side, it smelt quite nice. The scent of this conditioner reminded me of cherries.

2. Urban Decay All Nighter (15ml)
I didn't really think this did all that much and thought it was all psychological until I started using the Urban Decay DeSlick after finishing this travel sized bottle up. Between the two, I much prefer the All Nighter spray. I will be doing a comparison soon, so I won't go into too much details here. I will definitely repurchase this.

3. No 7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder in Medium
Another product purchased when I was in the UK three months ago. I really like this powder. It mattified my face and set my liquid foundation (although my liquid foundation did a good job setting itself), which are the main reasons why I use a pressed powder. The only con is that I have applied too much powder on my face a few times and it left my face looking a bit cakey... but then again that's the norm for most pressed powders. Would repurchase if I could.

4. Rimmel Sexy Curve Full Figure Mascara and Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara

I've been trying to go through my current stash of used mascaras, and am forcing myself to throw out at least one mascara a month. This month I'm saying goodbye to the Rimmel Sexy Curve Full Figure Macara and Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara. I am reluctant to do so because they are still quite good (not clumpy) but I have to get through my enormous stash. Both mascaras served their purpose quite well. Since the Heroine Make is meant to be a waterproof mascara, I used it as a base before applying the Rimmel Sexy Curves over the top to give my lashes a tat more volume. I then top it off with another coat of Heroine Make to make my lashes waterproof. I purchased the Heroine Make from Singapore, and would repurchase it, as it really helps separate my lashes and lengthens them ever so slightly. I think I won the Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara in a competition, I'm not sure if I would repurchase as I'm a Maybelline mascara fan and may be a tat biased. But I would recommend this Rimmel mascara for volumising your lashes.

5. Avene Gentle Eye Make-up Remover
You may notice that this bottle isn't empty, but it might as well be because it's going straight in the bin. I received this in one of my monthly beauty subscription boxes and this is so gentle, it's useless. I hate the gel like consistency of this eye makeup remover. I pour a bit out on a cotton pad, wipe it on my lashes, and little bit of mascara flakes appear on the cotton pad. My eyes feel like a snail has crawled across my lashes and left a trail of snail gunk. I obviously will NOT be repurchasing this.

Have you tried the Avene gentle eye make-up remover? Finished any empties that you love and will be repurchasing immediately?

  3. I think we all hang onto our mascaras! It's such a waste to throw them out :( But for the sake of our eyes.. it has to be done :) It just gives us another excuse to buy more :P

  4. I have used the avene make up remover and didnt mind it, you do use quite a bit of product to remove everything though - i havent tried it for long wearing cosmetics however. Its great to use a cotton tip to get liner off your waterline without stinging your eyes.

    1. I don't normally have the stinging problem, as I just use a makeup remover wipe. But maybe that's where I went wrong! I thought I used quite a bit when I tried it, maybe I needed more.
