What the postman brought me this week

Due to the public holiday, and no postal delivery services, my postman had A LOT to deliver this week when he returned to work on Wednesday.

I would just like to add that my "What the postman brought me this week" posts are going to start to dwindle in the near future, as I am not waiting for much to arrive and haven't bought anything these couple of days... I can hear the BF rejoicing already as I type this. Although, don't be dishearten all you lovely folks who have entered my giveaway and commented that they love reading my "What the postman brought me this week", I don't plan on this not spending business lasting very long.

Anyway, enough rambling! Here's what I got this week...

1. Make Up Your Face - USD$51 including shipping
I don't know if you can tell yet but I have a SERIOUS problem with buying nail polish. I have so many, I can't even decide which one to use! Anyone with the same problem?! I've really been getting into indie polishes over the past few months. Some of the polishes that these people make are so, so gorgeous and unique. I especially like sparkley ones with love hearts... (I sound like such a bimbo there. :-/) The cuticle oil (first row, first bottle from the left) was given to me as a free gift and smells divine! The next three bottles and the first two on the bottom row from the left are part of a grab bag I purchased. The other two bottles are part of Lauren's (Make Up Your Face seller) breast cancer awareness campaign, and I love them to bits even though I haven't tried them on yet.

2. Furless - $19.43 including shipping
I LOVE furless brushes. If you haven't read my current favourite brushes, where I rave about some of Furless brushes, check it out here. Anyway, when I was in Tasmania and had reception to check my emails, I found out that Furless had a sale on. So OBVIOUSLY I had to buy some brushes... I was shop deprived and the sale was too awesome to resist.

3. eBay - USD$30.48 including postage
L-R: Tarte Pressed Mineral Powder in Light (Travel size), Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Magic (Travel size)
If you've been reading my blog posts lately, you may know that Tarte has fast become one of my favourite brands. I have fallen in love with Tarte blushes, and I may or may not be on a mission to collect them all, Pokemon style!

When I ran out of my No 7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder (read my empties post here), I rummaged through my stash of foundations and had so much trouble finding a pressed powder! I then realized I had quite a lot of liquid, loose powder, and cream-to-powder foundations but not a lot of pressed foundation. Since pressed powder is an essential item in my makeup routine (I use it to set my foundation), I NEED to make sure I always have a back up.... so I guess this Tarte one will have to do the trick for now. Although, it IS a travel sized, and travel sized products are meant for travelling, so I will NEED to buy a full sized pressed powder... Any recommendations?

3. Priceline Order #1 - $11.97, free delivery!
God obviously wanted me to buy something to support the Australian economy because Priceline had a sale AND free shipping on Christmas day & boxing day. So I listened and did TWO orders. It's been a while since I dyed my hair purple (I used Schwarzkopf Brilliance Luminance in Ultra Violet, and it was BRILLIANT!), and it turned the yucky brassy blonde bits in my hair a gorgeous vibrant purple, whilst giving the rest of my hair (darker brown/black bits) a hint of purple. However, the lovely colours in my hair have dulled. The nice hint of purple have turned brown, and the gorgeous vibrant purple have faded into a dull purplish colour. I was so happy when Priceline had some purple Napro dye on special, that I purchased it immediately. Unfortunately I didn't realize that the Napro hair dye I bought was non-permanent, so I returned it at my local Priceline and purchased the Schwarzkopf one instead. I also decided to get the Napro shampoo and conditioners just to try them out. Although, I think it might be a while before I get to them, as I really want to try out my Lush stuff!

4. Priceline Order #2 - $26.36, free delivery
Continuing on from before, about why it will take me a while to get to the Napro shampoo & conditioner, I don't tend to wash my hair everyday because my hair is dry from all the times I've exposed my once lovely, luxurious locks to chemicals. So I rely heavily on dry shampoos to make my scalp feel less oily in between washes. I absolutely love Batiste, as it does an amazing job at making my hair feel less like a McDonald's deep fryer. I also purchased a Max Factor mascara because it was special for $10... I can't say no to mascaras... The Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Blush ended up in my cart because they were also on sale (I have a problem...), and it received fantastic reviews on makeupalley.

5. Adore Beauty - $44.83 including delivery
YAY! I finally have a matte top coat! I've been in the market for one for a few weeks now... Thoughts on this topcoat will appear on this blog in the near future, probably in a NOTD post.

I also bought an OPI set called "Box of Apples". I forgot to take a photo before taking out everything and throwing away the box.

6. BrandsExclusive (La Senza) - $24.89 including delivery
I had a $10 voucher, so I couldn't say no to a new bra. I have a thing for lingerie as well.... my underwear drawers are full... in BOTH houses (parents and the BF).

7. eBay - $36.68 including shipping
I love using eBay to get my Tarte fix. I purchase a Tarte gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara and a Tarte Maracuja Bouncy Airblush Blush in Shimmering Pink. Apparently the Tarte Airblush is meant to be a cream blush, but it doesn't look very creamy to me! It looks like a powder blush. I guess I'll find out when I start using it...

8. All Cosmetics Wholesale - USD$36.67 including postage
L-R: MAC Satin Brave, Lipstick #5, and Lipstick #14
I purchased some MAC lipsticks and an Urban Decay lingerie and galoshes for lashes with a 30% discount code. The three lipsticks were on sale for $8.99-$9.99 (before the discount) because the stickers at the bottom were ripped off (except the first one in the picture), so they don't know the colours of them and were listed as factory blems. ACW classifies factory blems as "a product we purchase from the manufacturer at a reduced price as the product is not retail sellable according to manufacture guidelines. This could be due to color variation (from what it should be), missing fragrance, incorrect labeling, incorrect boxing, no boxing, human error in manufacturing, or simply not passing tough quality control standards". I was a tat annoyed with the third lipstick from the left because the picture on their website is completely different to the actual colour of the lipstick.

Sorry for the crap alignment... I don't think these two lipsticks look alike what-so-ever. I mean I do understand that there are variations in colour when it comes to computer displays but nothing THIS drastic. I have expressed my annoyance and disappointment in an email to ACW, and am awaiting a reply. But I'm not expecting them to do anything. Since this colour is not for me, it will be up for grabs to whoever wants it (if ACW doesn't do anything about it). Just pay shipping and fees (if paying by paypal). Let me know if you're interested in a comment below or send me an email - shrinkingwallet@hotmail.com. I have swatched it once... picture below, and is unboxed.

L-R: Lipstick #5, Lipstick #4, MAC Satin Brave.
That's all the postman brought me this week! Did he bring you anything exciting this week?

  6. That Mac lipstick colour (4) looks great for fall! I have shopped in ACW and their photos kind of disturb me too, but I always google swatches for anything I buy there.

    1. Hard to google if they don't have a name for it, but I guess that's why it's cheap.

  18. I just ordered the factory blem that you showed as being very different from the picture. In the written description it said it was a wine shade and I thought it was weird that the picture was a sort of mauvey shade. I am hoping for something close to the deeper shade you received, but since I've never actually owned a MAC lipstick and I'm just trying them out to see if I like the formula it probably won't matter so much. Thank you for posting the pictures - it was really helpful in seeing what kind of products they send. Your blog has so much great detail in it _ I can't wait to read more.
