Blog Swap with Jen

Jen from The Shopping Queen and I decided to do a blog swap quite a while ago for Valentine's day. A few weeks before she posted the swap items, I bought the Urban Decay All Nighter XL from her blog sale and arranged to have it posted with the other items that she was getting me for the swap. She also gifted a bottle of Lush I Love Juicy shampoo because it reminded her of the shop "Tree of Life", which is sort of a hippy store if you don't live in Australia. I associate incense to the smell of "Tree of Life". But I didn't think it smelt like incense... it smelt more citrusy than anything else.

Besides the UD All Nighter spray and Lush I Love Juicy, she also announced on her blog that she'll be sending me some belated Christmas presents (here), which I thought was sooo sweet! Although, I'm not entirely sure which were meant to be my belated Christmas presents (not that it matters). In return, I may have conveniently forgotten what our budget was and may have gone way overboard...

Anyway, this is what she got me...
I got so excited with everything, I forgot to include the Lush Juicy Shampoo in this picture!

Australis Mint Condition Lip Gloss in An Evening With? & Meow With Your Mind
An Evening With is a bright red shade, whilst Meow With Your Mind is a peachy pink with gold microglittery particles. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to try these out yet, as I've got so many lip products to try out (e.g. Baby Lips that Jen also gave me, and YSL Volupte Sheer Candy from my Sephora haul). From the reviews I've read, they seem like great lip glosses though! I'm not entirely sure if I'll be brave enough to wear the An Evening With lip gloss, but I'll give it a go.

Essence Cherry Blossom Girl Blush
I love blushes and Essence products. I think they're such a great value for money! My local Target kind of sucks at releasing new collections, and normally take quite a while (sometimes even months) to put the new stuff out, so I'm really glad that Jen included this blush from their newest Cherry Blossom Girl collection. Unfortunately, I haven't tried this out yet but I will soon! I'm currently trying out Benefit's Fine One One so I can put a review up sometime next week!

Essence Cherry Blossom Girl Nail Polish in It's Peach Not Cherry & Australis Nail Colour in Today's News
I'm a bit of a nail polish addict, and am contemplating blogging about my ginormous collection of nail polish, but I'm waiting for the BF to hurry up and build my nail polish shelf (I'm hopeless at building things), as they're currently sitting in 3 boxes. Anyway, I always appreciate receiving nail polish in the mail, so I'm so excited to try these polishes out when my current painted nails chip!

 Lancome Blush Highlighter
This was actually the first thing I unwrapped, and I was so excited that I hyperventilated. I have tried it and I absolutely love it! I love how it's a shimmer and not a glitter, so I don't look like a unicorn has barfed glitter bits all over my face.

Tarte Prime, Shine & Define kit
Jen asked if there was anything from Sephora I wanted that was $20 and under. I had a quick look, and decided on this Tarte kit. If you are new to my blog, I'm a bit Tarte obsessed at the moment... The kit comes with a 12 hr prefecting primer, an Amazonian Clay BB Illuminating Moisturizer and an Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara. I have used all three of these products out and wasn't all that impressed with the primer. It smelt quite bad and it wasn't very "pore-refining" compared to the Benefit Porefessional primer. The Illuminating Moisturizer did not have much coverage at all, so I had to apply a bit of foundation and concealer on top (which is expected, since it is a tint, and did not claim to have much coverage). I found it quite hydrating without being over-the-top, since I do have combination-oily skin. The mascara was also good, it volumized my lashes and held a curl well.

Maybelline Baby Lips Color Lip Balm in Pink Lolita and Berry Crush
I've cracked open Pink Lolita to try and I'm so pleasantly surprised how pigmented these baby lips can get! I've only used this a handful of times, and it feels as moisturizing as the other baby lips on the market.

Lush Noubar Soap
This smells amazing! I haven't had the chance to try it out... I've been meaning to chop it into little pieces so I can use it in the shower without wasting anything considering how pricey Lush soaps can get!

Tony Moly Peach Lip Balm
Another product I haven't used yet (sorry Jen!! I really wanted to show everyone what you got me, so I haven't had a chance to use everything yet), but I've smelt it and it smells so friggen good! If you love the peach scented stuff, I highly recommend it. How can you say no to the cute packaging anyway?!

Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo
As explained above, Jen gave me this bottle of I Love Juicy shampoo by Lush because she wasn't a fan of the smell. I thought it smelt quite citrusy, which is admittedly not what I normally go for but it was pleasant. I used this with the Lush Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner and the smell of both shampoo and conditioner lasted till the next wash a few days later! Amazeballs!

Urban Decay All Nighter XL
I bought this from Jen's blog sale (here), and she still has one more left. I absolutely love this All Nighter because it does set my makeup, and helps make my makeup less cakey (I like using a finishing powder to set my foundation... and I sometimes use a heavy hand). I've done a review here, as well as a quick comparison between this All Nighter spray and the De-Slick one.

Lindt Chocolate
Mmmm chocolate... Need I say more?

Thanks so much Jen! Love love love everything you've sent (even though I'm a crap blog-swapper who hasn't found the time to use everything)! I've honestly loved everything I've tried and I can't wait to try out the other products!

If you haven't checked out Jen's blog yet, DO IT! She's going to be having another blog sale up soon with loads of products including MAC lippies, so don't miss out and follow her here!

  7. Haha I also forgot what out budget was but I thought that it was between $40-50 and I blew it on the Lancome that I knew you would love :) I got one for myself too and omg.. I was never really into Lancome but the highlighter is amazing!

I wasn't really sure if I should have specified what was your Christmas present but I kind of just thought that I'd add some extra money onto our "budget" and buy you some extra things :)

By the way, you blew the budget completely! Your swap package amazed me! I'll try to get the last photos done so I can do a post to show everyone what you got me :)

    1. Oh I forgot to add that your Lancome highlighter might've had some dust or some white stuff on the outside of it. I had it on mine too and it was from the thick paper that the parcel forwarders packed my Nordstrom package in to prevent the highlighters from breaking.

    2. I didn't notice any dust or white stuff at all. I think I was too busy trying to get it open to gawk/stare at its prettiness. Thanks a bunch Jen! We HAVE to swap again in the near future! :P
