What the postman brought me

Continuing on from the previous "What the postman brought me" posts...

1. Ozsale
I wear gel polish on my nails 99% of the time because I love how much strength it gives my nails. I was quite sick of having to cart around my Gelish kit from home to the bf's and back, so I decided to get the Luminail starter kit from Ozsale when they had it for sale for $54.

One of the UV lights was dead on arrival, so I sent a message to Ozsale. Whilst waiting for a reply,  I sneakily used the kit. I wasn't too impressed to be honest. I didn't like how the lamp wasn't timed (my Gelish one is), and the curing time was between 2-5 minutes, which is heaps longer compared to the 45 seconds for Gelish. I used the Parisian pink colour (on the right of the box), and wasn't too impressed with it either. It said to use 2 coats, and it was quite sheer. I can still see my nail line! Anyway, Ozsale replied back a day later to ask me to send it back. I'm hoping they don't have a replacement and refund me my money, as this kit was so not worth it.

2. Lipstick Republic
I decided to splurge on the Beauty Blender airport kit after Lipstick Republic celebrated reaching the 2000 likes milestone on facebook by having 20% off store-wide (the sale is still on, but they've sold out on quite a lot of stuff). The Beauty Blender Airport kit was $39.96 before the discount. I also picked up Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tint in Lychee for $29.56 (before discount), and Lippy Girl Organic Lipstick in Nudist for $22 (before discount). Lipstick Republic generously included a complimentary E.L.F. Brightening Eye Colour eyeshadow!

3. eBay
I've nearly finished using up a bottle YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation in BD20, and I really love it. However, BD20 is slightly too light for me, so I scoured eBay for a shade or two darker than BD20 and found an auction for BD30. I bid a maximum of £24.45 (shipping was £9.50), and was so happy when I won the auction with a bid of £16! Bargain! Wasn't too pleased that the box was damaged in transit, but at least the bottle wasn't damaged.

4. Priceline
When priceline had free shipping plus double points to celebrate Good Friday, I took advantage of the offer and ordered some Physicians Formula cosmetics, as they had 50% off the whole range. I purchased the Mineral Wear Talc-Free Airbrushing Pressed Powder ($14.97), Bronze Booster ($14.97), and Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum ($10.97). So far I've tried the bronzer and the eyeliner. Haven't formed much of an opinion on the bronzer as I've only used it once or twice. The eyeliner, on the other hand, I absolutely love! I love that it's a true black, and it's so ridiculously easy to apply compared to the Maybelline hyper glossy eyeliner that I've been using at the BF's (planning on doing a review of that soon). Highly recommend the eye booster eyeliner!

5. Adore Beauty
Did you know that Skindinavia makes all the Urban Decay setting sprays?! Anyway, when adore beauty had a sale for easter, I decided to pick up a bottle of Skindinavia setting spray, as I use them all the time to set my make up. I also picked up Nicole by OPI in Kim-pletely in love, which is a gorgeous shimmery pink polish.

6. HQhair
I decided to purchase the Kerastase Initialiste Advanced Scalp and Hair Concentrate, which is meant to thicken your hair and make it all shiny after freaking out because I thought I was going bald from malting so much hair. My hair ends are also really dry (I'm talking so dry, it breaks off and looks like hay). I've used it twice so far after towel drying my hair, and I have yet to notice a difference.

7. Furless
Furless had a sale on when I purchased these brushes. I purchased five brushes (angled foundation brush, angled blush brush, kabuki buffer brush, precision bent eyeliner brush, and pencil/crease brush), each ranging from $2.38 and $5.99, which I thought were bargains! I love Furless brushes as they're such great quality and are made cruelty free. Furless also included two complimentary brushes in my parcel, which is so generous of them!

8. Surprise present from the BF
I created a wishlist on an app called "Simple note" on my iPhone that my BF could access just in case he wanted to surprise me. Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Rosewood was on that wishlist after seeing and falling in love with some gorgeous EOTDs featuring this eye shadow online. He purchased this on ebay, and not having own any Burberry cosmetics, I wanted to make sure that this was genuine. Have yet to take this to a Burberry beauty counter, but I can't wait to use this eyeshadow!

9. HQhair Facebook Competition
Woohoo! I won something again! I think it's time to buy a lotto ticket lol I won a L'Oreal Wild Ombre Kit for light brown to dark brown hair. As I've just had my hair dyed with highlights, I will be saving this for when my hair needs an overhaul.

That's all that the postman brought me this time around. Did he/she bring you anything exciting?

  4. The Luminail is terrible with the lamp, it's so slow. I got a lamp off eBay and it was much better. I've had a number of comments on my blog about the system being recalled due to not being safe? A few people have been told that at Priceline, the system is still for sale elsewhere though as I've seen it on shelf. Strange.

  5. I have the Luminail and I had to buy a lamp from Ebay as their lamp was useless - Once I did that I had no problem. I heard that pale pink one is crap, I love the coral one - but Priceline discontinued this range so now I have to get other shades from Ebay and it works out to be $20 a bottle which is totally not worth it. I might have to check out your posts about Gelish, I think I need to try that!

  6. Ooh, what lovely goodies to get, happy mail day(s) indeed!

I must say that I'm really liking the Skindinavia, but I never knew they did the UD range too (or did I, it all blends together now).

I think I will finish my UD all nighter and then buy a full sized Skindinavia, since it's easier to get. :)

    xx
