July Empties

Another month gone, another handful of products used up! Yay!

Starting off last month's empties...

1. Nexxus Phyto Organics Humectin Extreme Moisture Conditioner
I thought this conditioner was quite moisturizing. This bottle works a little differently compared to other bottles. It's a bit hard to describe, and I should have taken a photo but I had a blogger-fail moment and threw it out before I thought about it. What makes it different from other bottles is that no product comes out unless it is squeezed, as it has this plastic end that does not allow air to enter the bottle. When I first used it, I thought it was really clever until I got about half way through. Since no air was allowed to enter the bottle, the sides became really indented and made it difficult to squeeze to get product out. I had to twist the whole cap open and pour some out onto my palm. Whilst it's an easy fix, it's not exactly desirable, as it's cumbersome.

The conditioner smelt nice, and I also liked that it could be used as a leave-in conditioner. However, I only used it as a wash-off conditioner, but it's always nice to have options. I don't think I would repurchase this, as this does not beat my HG conditioner (Aussie 3 minute deeeeeep treatment) in terms of moisturising, and this conditioner is also quite expensive (can't remember how much I paid for it).

2. Bath & Body Works - Beautiful Day Shower Gel
If you've read a few of my empties and hauls posts, you'll already know how much I love Bath & Body Works products. This shower gel was no exception. It smelt appley, which I love and would repurchase in a heartbeat if the aussie dollar wasn't doing so badly.

3. Selsun Blue Anti-dandruff Shampoo
Sorry about the blurry picture. Didn't realise how blurry it was until I was cropping the picture. This is the most effective anti-dandruff shampoo I have tried to date. I did a blog post on it here. I have already repurchased.

4. Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion
I started off liking this moisturizer. But as time went by, my dislike for it grew. I like the smell of this moisturizer, but it may not be suitable for those with sensitive skin, as it is quite perfumey. The main reason for my dislike and hence not finishing this moisturizer (I have about 10% left) is that it makes my skin significantly more oily half way through the day, especially when I have makeup on. I also do not like that the bottle is made of glass, as I'm a tat clumsy. I have dropped it once (or twice... or maybe three times). Thankfully it didn't break, but the cap has a chip in it and the pump is slightly damaged (still works though). I would not repurchase, as it made my oily skin worse.

5. Lancome Cils Booster XL (travel size)
I'm sad to throw this primer away. I absolutely love it, as it really helps lengthen and volumise my lashes prior to using a mascara. I will definitely be repurchasing this after I run out of my stash of travel size Cils Booster XL.

6. Johnson's Daily Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes
Horrible wipes. They aren't damp enough to effectively remove all traces of makeup, especially mascara. Not a fan and would not be repurchasing. Unfortunately, I think I have another pack or two of this to use up. :(

7. NARS Pro Prime Pore Refining Primer (travel size)
Not a fan of this primer. It did absolutely nothing for me. It is the complete opposite of silicone-based primers texture-wise. It feels like it's water-based, as it absorbs into the skin really quickly. Although that may be desirable, it did not feel like it did anything for my skin - i.e. it did not create a smoother canvas for the application of foundation. I would not repurchase this.

So that's it for my July empties. What have you emptied last month? Feel free to link your July empties post in the comments. :)

  2. I love that Nars Primer, it made my foundation look amazing! I'm not a fan of benefit's skin care either though.

  3. Good to know that I'm not the only person who didn't like the NARS primer all that much either. I feel like it does absolutely nothing for me too! I only started long primers when I found a good hourglass one :)

  5. The Lancome Eyelash primer sounds really good! The only time I've used an eyelash primer is with one of my Maybelline mascaras that is double ended but I dont see too many eyelash primers on their own.
