Lust Have It - September 2013

I received my Lust Have It box today, and apparently this is the last month that we will be getting the "old" packaging. I'm curious to find out what the "new" packaging will entail. I'm hoping it'll be similar to the bags we used to get before these "collectible" boxes.

This month, there were a whole heap of products in my box. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it all.
Contents of September Lust Have It

1. WOTNOT Natural Organic Facial Wipes - 5 wipes (RRP: $7.95 for 25 wipes)
"The formula is enriched with all natural ingredients including Australian certified organic aloe vera to lubricate and repair, certified organic sweet almond oil to restore lost moisture and clam itch and inflammation, and certified organic rosehip oil for skin regeneration and moisture re-balancing."

I love WOTNOT facial wipes, and since I use makeup removing wipes everyday, as the first step in night time skin care, these will definitely get used.

2. Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover - 29ml (RRP: $22 for 110ml)
"Gently removes eye makeup, including waterproof mascara, without tugging or pulling delicate skin in the eye area. Formula does not leave skin feeling dry. The mini is great for travel and small enough to tuck in your handbags."

I'm relatively new to Mary Kay products - I've only ever tried the Microdermabrasion Kit, which is quite harsh but good nonetheless, so I was quite happy to see a Mary Kay product in this month's box. I gave it a go today when I came back from work, as my makeup remover wipe (Johnson's daily essentials) is rubbish at removing my waterproof mascara. I can't say I'm too impressed, as it did take a while to remove all my mascara and eyeliner.

3. L'Oreal Paris Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer - 5ml (RRP: $29.95 for 15ml)
"L'Oreal Base Magique transforming smoothing primer instantly minimises pores and creates an even surface, so that you get a more flawless make-up result that lasts."

I remember trying a sample of this a while ago, and thought that it was ok. I think the main reason why I didn't bother picking up a full size version of this primer is because it comes in a jar. I can't seem to think of a valid reason for putting a primer in a jar. It's just too impractical and unhygienic.

4. L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream in Medium - 1.0ml (RRP:$26.95 for 30ml)
"A breakthrough in BB technology. Micro-pigment capsules that transform and self-adjust to match your skin tone for the perfect nude look. This 5 in 1 BB Cream not only offers a flawless ultra-light coverage but also enhances natural complexion, even skin tone and provides your skin 24 hour hydration and SPF12 protection."

First of all, I would NOT classify this as a deluxe sample (FYI - Lust Have It claims that samples sent are deluxe, and if you are lucky, a full sized). Secondly, sachet... need I say more? Thirdly, I'm pretty sure this is not a match for my skintone, as I remember testing this out in Priceline, and I was a light. However, I'm not blaming Lust Have It for this, as I reckon it'll be nearly impossible to get everyone's shade right. I'll most likely throw this in one of my (very near) future giveaways.

5. Bioderma Sebium AKN - 5ml (RRP: $24.95 for 30ml)
"Bioderma Sebium AKN preserves sebum quality, preventing deterioration and thickening, thus effectively reducing the appearance and development of imperfections."

Hmm... I'm pretty sure I've received this before in a box and it didn't work too well with my skin (read here). So this might also end up in a giveaway.

 6. Bioderma Sebium Foaming Gel - 10ml (RRP: $29.95 for 500ml)

"Formulated with non-irritant substances, this gel cleanses gently and reduces sebum secretion whilst purifying the epidermis."

I'm not sure if I should be receiving this, as in the information card, it says "Bioderma Sebium Foaming Gel OR Biodemra Sebium AKN". Regardless, here are my thoughts as I've received this in a prior beauty box and have used it - It's an ok product. I would use this sample, but it's not amazing enough for me to want to go out and purchase the full-size.

7. Baji Super-Nutri Eye Rescue Cream - full size (RRP: $35 for 15ml)
"Baji Rescue Eye Serum is a newly designed, ultra light weight, fast absorbing, intensive formula. A dispense of only a tiny drop is needed for maximum effectiveness for your skins overall health. This unique combination of ingredients helps deliver an incredible group of antioxidants. The Super Nutrient ingredients helpfight against wrinkles, black circles and puffiness around the eyes. A blend of Hyaluronic Acid as the ultimate hydrator, combined with Green Coffee Extract offers superior antioxidant properties proven to reduce hyper pigmentation. Gota Kola to help reduce puffiness, and Siberian Ginseng Which offers natures alternative to Botox ."

I feel like this is such a waste for me. I've been trying to use up my eye cream samples that I've received in previous boxes, but I keep forgetting, as I'm not used to it, and don't feel the need for them (and before you start, yes I know prevention is better than cure...). Not too sure what to do with this yet.

8. Lust Have It Synthetic Precision Pencil Brush (RRP: $15)

"This synthetic precision pencil brush is perfect for cream or powder-eyeshadow application."

I really NEED to start using eyeshadow more often... This brush feels really soft and dense, which I think will be perfect for a blending to create a smokey eye.
9. TOM Organic Regular Tampons - x2 (RRP: $7.99 for a pack of 16)
"TOM's range of feminine hygiene produts are made using the purest organic cotton on earth; breathable, comfortable, hypoallergic. TOM offers reliable, chemical free protection and peace of mind."

This is a bonus product. I don't tend to use tampons, because I'm chicken sh*t when it comes to TSS. So I'm going to be the best sister in the world and give this to my sister for her birthday this coming weekend :D :P

I love that Lust Have It have included a sneak peek for next month's box and I'm excited to see what Inika product I'll get, despite not being familiar with the brand at all.

Overall, I'm on the fence. I don't love this box, neither do I hate it. There are products that I'd use, and there are some that I know that I won't for sure.

If you'd like to subscribe to Lust Have It, don't forget to use the code "WALLET" to get $5 off your first box.

What did you get in your Lust Have It box? What are your thoughts?

Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway to win a Tangle Teezer.

EDIT: In regards to the L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream, Lust Have It has responded on Facebook "Sometimes we will provide 2 smaller samples from a brand instead of one deluxe sized sample as we did this month. We hope you don't mind an additional sachet if it means more products to try x"

  1. I'm sure your sister will love the gift of tampons :) I'd be happy to try most of the products {the ones I haven't already} so am looking forward to getting my box. And I agree about the packaging, I only signed up this year so all mine have been in a box of some variation, I'd love some bags instead! :)

    1. Hahaha, I'm sure she will too :D Can't wait to see what you get :)

  2. Replies
    1. It's not too shabby, but it's not the best box Lust Have It has produced.

  3. That's a great box! I feel the same way about tampons!

  4. I really liked this box, mainly because of the eye cream, one product mum and I are always on the hunt for

    1. That's good to hear that you've liked the box. LHI can't possibly please everyone.

I ended up giving the eye cream to my mum!

  5. I was confused too about getting the two Bioderma samples, but its a brand I've never tried before so I'm pretty happy :) I had a giggle at you giving the tampons to your sis haha, better than letting them go to waste though :)

  6. We got exactly the same LHI box. I really loved this month's contents, but I agree with you on the tampons...I'm giving mine away to friends who use it.

  7. That box looks great! Great deal !

  8. Mmm I like those products...want to buy them all LOL! Great box!

  9. Primer in a jar? Too bad... I guess they were trying to be original or something...
