Review: MAC Eye Brows in Lingering and Spiked

Sorry it's been a while. I was offered two jobs late last week, and I spent all weekend thinking about which I should pick. It was hell trying to decide, as I'm such an indecisive person. But I've finally decided on the job, and I hope I've made the right decision.

Anyway, I thought I'd break the rather long blog "drought" with a review of one of my new favourite eye brow product - MAC Eye Brows. I was introduced to the MAC Eye Brows by Jenny of The Shopping Queen. Jenny gave me the shade "Lingering" as part of the swap we did a few months ago (read here and here). It was the perfect shade for me, as I had blonde highlights through my hair. However, when I went darker, I just thought that Lingering was just a tat too light. So I decided to purchase the next shade up, Spiked, when I did my US haul.

You may be wondering why I like the MAC Eye Brows so much to buy two. Well, let's start with the packaging. I love how sleek and thin the eye brows crayons are. I also love that you do not need to sharpen it, all you have to do is twist the end (the longish bit where the crayon comes out from). However, the only con is that if you twist out too much, you can't retract it (well, at least I haven't figured out how to). Having said that, it's quite hard to twist out too much, as the twisty end is a bit stiff and sometimes makes it a bit hard to twist, especially if you have wet hands or you have just put some cream on.

I also love the formula of these eye brows crayons. They are pigmented (for eye brow crayons), and are so easy to apply. There's no mess at all (unlike powders, especially loose ones). You don't have to worry about having to find a brush (or to wash one).

After "scrubbing" several times with a wet wipe - L-R: Lingering; Spiked
They last all day on my brows. But I don't normally have a problem with my brows disappearing towards the end of the day. However, I was amazed at how hard I had to "scrub" my arm to get rid of the swatch. I ended up having to use some eye makeup remover to get rid of it all. Pretty darn impressive, if you ask me.

Left brow: Spiked; Right brow: Lingering

Lastly, I love how natural they look. I think I can pull of both shades of eye brows crayons, depending on the look I'm going for.

Overall, I think these MAC Eye Brows Crayons are amazing eye brow products. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a great eye brow crayon.

Have you tried these MAC Eye Brows Crayons before? What is your favourite eye brow product?

  1. I totally agree that the eye brow crayons are amazing! Lingering is also a tad too light for me right now but I wasn't sure what colour to go for.... but now I need to pick up spiked too!

    1. I think there was another one that was slightly darker than Lingering, but it wasn't a drastic difference. I swatched the slightly darker shade and Lingering and they looked nearly identical.

  2. Now that you've reminded me, I have no idea where mine is! I've got it in Lingering and I quite liked it, but haven't used it in a while!

  4. Oh sounds awesome! I haven't seen these ones before actually but will look out for them. I love brow products; they are a must-do step of my routine every single day even on days when I only have 5 mins for make up.
