Wantable - September 2013

I actually received my Wantable box early last week. If you don't know what Wantable is, it's a beauty subscription box (they also have jewellery and intimates boxes) that is completely tailored to your preferences. It's quite expensive at $36 plus $10 shipping to Australia, but it's so worth it considering there are 4-6 full sized products in each box plus they only send you items you love (according to a rather comprehensive survey you fill out prior to subscribing).

This is the second time I've received my box so early in the month, especially since it came from the states! Australian beauty boxes, you have absolutely NO excuse for sending boxes out late!

I received 5 full sized items in my box this month, as well as two makeup remover wipes (samples).

 1. Cailyn Cosmetics - Linefix Gel Pencil in Black - RRP: USD$17
"Creamy, highly pigmented gel eyeliner in a pencil form. Cailyn Line Fix Gel Pencils glide on smoothly and effortlessly, providing rich, vibrant color. The richly pigmented eyeliner blends easily and lasts long while keeping strong color intensity."

I have yet to swatch this, as I hate using new eyeliners or mascaras until I finish an old one. I love that I received a black one, as black eyeliners are a staple in my makeup collection and I use them practically everyday.

2. LAQA & Co. Nail Polish in Fancypants - RRP: USD$11.00
"This delightful nude polish is the perfect fall shade. Beautifully packaged in unique artwork from your designers, LAQA & Co. polishes are more than just cosmetics, they're little pieces of art. This polish is Three Free, Paraben Free, and Cruelty Free!"

I'm not going to lie and say I thought this was the most gorgeous colour in the world when I pulled it out of the box. In fact, I thought it was quite the opposite... until I swatched it today.

This polish looks different, depending on the light. Sometimes it looks more of a grey brown....

And other times, it has a green tinge to it (please excuse the lobster looking hands, I'd alter the colour, but I think the colour of the polish in the picture is accurate). I think it's a surprisingly great colour that suits my skintone. To top it off, I'm pretty darn sure I do not have a colour like this in my nail polish collection.

3. MiA BelleZZa Eyeshadow in Peach Puff - RRP: USD$16.00
"Amazing long-lasting color that never fades or creases. Fortified with vitamins. Use wet or dry to achieve the desired look. Blend together with other formulas of shadows to achieve creative dramatic looks."

I'm not a big eyeshadow user, but I think this would be great as a base, as it's quite a light, peachy pink colour.

4. WhipHand Cheek Flash in Biased - RRP: USD$18.00
"Cheek Flash is a high pigment loose blush for maximum impact."

I'm not a big fan of loose powders because I find them too messy. I'm on the fence with this product. Whilst the colour is nice and pigmented, the packaging is not the best. I like that there's a twisty thing (photo on the right) that can open up the packaging, exposing product or can shut it off completely so you don't get a heap of product everywhere when you open the cap after travelling with it. However, what you see above is what I saw when I twisted off the lid for the first time. There's already product all over the shop. I don't think this will be travelling anywhere with me.

5. Michael Marcus Lipstick in Dannette - RRP: USD$24.00
"Michael's unique lipstick formulation delivers a soft, creamy and long-wearing lipstick. Strong pigments offer staying power, while castor oil moisturizes the lips. A luxury blend of pigments with a creamy texture."

When I first opened this lipstick, I thought the colour was pretty but not for me. I originally wanted to include this in a giveaway, but it's a tat damaged. It looks like a manufacturing problem, as the lipstick does not sit in the middle of the holder, resulting in one side being "squished". I guess I'll have to use it and perhaps layer it with a coloured lipgloss.

 6. La Fresh Makeup Remover Wipes x2
"Is your makeup ready for take-off? Make it a smooth departure with these handy makeup removing wipes! This moisturizing formula with vitamin E dissolves makeup from eyes, lips, and face in a snap!"

A nice bonus that will definitely be handy when I go travelling next.

Overall, I'm not as impressed with this box than I was with the other Wantable boxes I've received in the past. Having said that, it's still a good box, and definitely trumps the other beauty boxes in the Australian market. I will definitely continue purchasing Wantable for as long as I can afford it. 1. Not a bad box, nice range of products. Agreed, better than all other australian beauty boxes... so tempting..

  2. I am so behind on my Wantable post! There was a bit of drama with mine...I will share it soon!

Overall, I really do like Wantable...I think it's great that they deliver full sized products from brands we can't get here. Bit of a double edged sword if we fall in love and want to buy more though!

  3. I always get a tad jealous when I read people's Wantable box posts because the products are just so amazing and there's such a range of brands so its great to experiment with them. I think your both this month is pretty good! Maybe when I earn a bit more money, I'll sign up!

  4. man i got to say that out of all the tutorials yours helped me the most…… Wholesale Camouflage.just tell me……how the hell do u draw a straight line?????

  5. I haven't heard of this box yet! I am a bad beauty blogger, I am having a 'drought' of my own with regards to beauty posts and keeping up to date. The CheekFlash product looks so pretty but I'm a bit iffy about these powder products too.

  6. Ohhh the eyeliner and and cheekflash looks amazing!
