Wantable - October 2013

My Wantable box came a tat late this month, although not as late as Lust Have It despite it being an Australian beauty subscription box. I think it's quite appalling that a beauty subscription box that is tailored to your preferences and based in the US manages to send the personalised box all the way across the world before an Australian company can send a NON-personalised box domestically.

Wantable is currently available to residents in USA, Canada and Australia. A monthly subscription will set you back USD$36 a month with the option to cancel anytime or skip a month. Shipping is free for residents in USA, USD$5 for Canadians, and USD$9 for Australians.

Besides the makeup box (which is the one I'm subscribed to), there's an accessories box, intimates box and a limited edition Halloween box. I can't say much about the other three boxes, as I've never purchased them but I love the makeup version, as everything is full-sized and most, if not all, are products that I would use, thanks to the rather thorough quiz that I filled out so that Wantable knows what to include in my box each month.

I received five full-sized products this month and a sample (or two) eyeshadow.

"An exceptionally light creamy mousse texture, combined with the antioxidant, anti-aging properties of our exclusive Labrador Tea extract. Easily applied with the fingertips, its long-lasting formula gives the eyelids an iridescent look."

I received the peach shade and the grey/silver shade (vert enchante). I have yet to use these samples, but I will...one day...

Be A Bombshell Blush in Glowing Goddess - RRP: USD$16.00
"This peachy keen blush with a bit of shimmer is sure to perk you up this Spring!"

I was impressed with this blush (swatches below). It's a gorgeous peachy shade with the tiniest hint of shimmer. It's quite pigmented and really easy to blend. This is easily my favouritest product in this month's Wantable box.

Michael Marcus Eye Liner in Prism - RRP: USD$16.00
"We utilize Japanese Wax (plant based) to create a pencil that glides on effortlessly with stunning colour."

I was so excited to try this pencil when I first took it out of the box. It's a brownish grey with gold glitter. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed when I tried it out. It's not as pigmented as I'd have liked it to be (see swatch below), and the colour isn't as great as it looks on the pencil. When I try to darken the line, clumps form (although that might be due to me pressing the pencil a tat too hard, resulting in the pencil breaking). Furthermore, it's hard to create a thin line (I may be a bit spoilt after using liquid eyeliner for so long).

Beauty For Real The Perfect Pencil in Nude - RRP: USD$14.00
"The only lip pencil you'll ever need to define and enhance your lips. It is a true lip tone, which works with all lip gloss shades and on all skin tones, taking the guesswork out of choosing the correct colour. Just apply prior to gloss application."

This is possibly the first lip pencil I own, so I don't know what to expect from lip pencils. It feels creamy, and doesn't tug the skin/lip. Pigmentation isn't great, but it's easily buildable. It's also a great shade that I'm comfortable wearing (see swatch below).

Swatches (L-R): Be A Bombshell Blush in Glowing Goddess; Michael Marcus Eyeliner in Prism; Beauty For Real The Perfect Pencil in Nude
Manna Kadar Extreme Curl Mascara - RRP: USD$19.00
"This mascara has an intense curling lash effect with a cutting edge technology brush tip to create the most luxurious lashes yet!"

I have yet to give this mascara a whirl but I'm looking forward to it, as mascaras is a crucial part of my everyday makeup routine (Damn you, short and stubby lashes!!!).

Cailyn Cosmetics Pink Kabuki Brush - RRP: USD$15.00
"With a full head of luxuriously soft man-made fiber, this dense kabuki brush is the perfect shape for powder application, buffing, and blending."

I've only used this brush this morning to apply loose powder over the top of my foundation and I have to say I'm impressed. It's a very dense and soft brush (which is what a kabuki brush should be). There was also no annoying fall-out, and I love the colour!

That's it for my Wantable box. If you'd like to subscribe, you can do so here.
