Singapore Duty Free Haul

As I didn't get much time to shop in Singapore, I did most of my shopping in Duty Free. I kind of splurged a wee bit too much, but I still get so excited seeing my loot.

Having had two Chanel polishes prior to my shopping spree at Duty Free (although I have yet to crack open the limited edition Peridot shade), I decided that I HAD to have more. The Chanel nail polish formulas are amazing!

I initially wanted the Frisson shade, but when I left Singapore for the Maldives, the terminal that I was at was sold out of Frisson. So I picked Mica Rose, which is a close alternative. From looking at the bottle, Mica Rose has Silver and pink/purple shimmer, whereas Frisson has more of a gold shimmer. The base colour of Frisson is slightly peachy than Mica Rose, but there's not much of a difference. I also picked up Dior's Ruban on the way out. Chanel May and Frisson was purchased on the way out from Singapore to Sydney.

L-R: YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 15 Corail Intuitive; Chanel Rouge Coco in 60 Triomphe, Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Mirage 338
It wasn't until I got home that I realised that I already have the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in Corail Intuitive. I am not sure what I'm going to do with this one yet.

The Chanel Rouge Coco was a serious impulse buy. I just wanted another Chanel lipstick!

Dior Addict Fluid Stick was actually purchased at a Sephora and not at Duty Free. I just realised this as I'm typing this blog post now. I'm going to be doing a review on this shortly, so I won't go on too much about this here.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour in No 1
I was sold when the sales assistant said "Limited Edition". There were two shades available. The other one (shade No 2) had a brownish colour instead of the pink stripe at the bottom, which I thought was perfect for bronzing. The middle stripe on the other shade was a lighter brown, instead of the peachy colour in the shade I picked up. Since I tend to use blushes more than bronzers, I decided on shade No 1.

Michael picked this palette up for me on the plane. He got an upgrade, whilst I was stuck in cattle class as there wasn't enough seats in Business for me. On his defence, they did ask if we are happy to be separated and I said yes, Michael can take Business because he doesn't sleep as well on the plane, as I do. He was purchasing some pandora beads for his mum as a present and something went wrong with the transaction so he received a $20 voucher for his next purchase over $30. He asked me what I wanted, and I perused through the inflight shopping magazine, paying careful attention to the makeup section (as you do). I found this Lancome palette and my heart started beating faster, my eyes dilated, and I knew it had to be mine!

All in all, I thought I did pretty well restraining myself in Duty Free. It could have been a lot worse.... at least that's what I keep telling myself.

  4. Can I ask how much the ysl and chanel lipsticks are duty free compared to the aussie retail price? I'm lusting after a few colours and would to get my mum to bring me back some of them

    1. I can't give you the exact price, as I don't have the receipts anymore, but I'm pretty sure they were around the SGD$30-$40 mark.
