Memebox - Tonymoly

I purchased this Tony Moly Memebox with the Holika Holika one, which I have reviewed previously (read here). I am familiar with Tony Moly, which is a Korean brand. However, I have not tried many of their products.

As I purchased both boxes as a set, I qualified for a free express shipping upgrade. I paid USD$66.99 for both boxes, which works out to be USD$33.50 per box. Although it is a bit expensive, it definitely does help knowing that all the products included are full-sized ones. Unfortunately, both boxes have sold out but there are plenty more to choose from on their website (click here).

1. Tonymoly Panda's Dream White Magic Cream - 50g (RRP: $12)
"A skin brightening and perfecting cream that locks in moisture and brightens dull complexions. This super nourishing cream will bring vitality back to skin while evening out the skin tone. Skin will feel soft and smooth after each application without the greasiness. The adorable panda packaging and the light fruit scent is an added bonus!
How to use: Apply directly to skin at the end of skincare routine."

Screw the product! Look at the Panda packaging... I can't even...

2. Tonymoly Apple Tox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream - 80g (RRP: $11)
"This is a multi-cream enriched with green apple extracts, AHA, and papaya extracts and which works as a massaging, moisturizing, and peeling cream all in one. Green apple extracts rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin C, and pectinic acid are effective agents as skin exfoliators and revitalizers.
How to use: Spread evenly over clean, dried face, avoiding the eyes and the mouth. Gently massage for 1-2 minutes and leave it on like a facial pack for 20-30 seconds. Again, gently roll with your fingertips to peel away any excess dead skin cells and rinse off with lukewarm water."

When I read the name of this product, I was really turned off. Something about the words "massage" and "peeling" in the product name just seems so unappealing and scary, let alone knowing the product is for your face! However, after reading the description and the "how to use" instructions, I am not as turned off and would give it a fair go before I get all judgemental again. Wish me luck.

3. Tonymoly Egg Pore Shiny Skin Soap - 50g x 2 (RRP: $9)
"A 5 in 1 Egg Soap that works to deliver moisture, nutrition, deep cleansing effect, sebum control, and pore care. It's made from fertile eggs soaked in vinegar for 1-2 weeks, a process that maximizes the level of calcium, protein, vitamin, amino acid, and various minerals found in eggs.
How to use: Lather well and gently massage the face for 1-2 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. It can be used as a facial cleanser or a pack."

This product also turned me off. Having mostly oily skin, I tend to shy away from products that promotes "shiny" skin. I was hoping that I would change my mind after reading the description, but I was (and still am) even more turned off. Smearing fertile egg essence on my face just doesn't sound appealing to me. Furthermore, my inner animal-cruelty conscience is protesting and kicking up a stink.

4. Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura Beam - 30ml (RRP: $16)
"Tonymoly's Luminous Goddess Aura Beam is a luminous gel type cream that adds supple, healthy glow to the skin, and minimizes the look of skin imperfections. Mixed with your favourite BB cream or used alone, this miracle product will help you achieve that infamous gorgeous Korean skin glow!
How to use: Mix in the Goddess Aura Beam with a BB cream in 1:2 ratio and apply evenly over face."

I thought this would have some sort of shimmer to it to create luminosity. However, I was wrong. It's just a clear gel  - see swatch below. Not too sure how it creates luminosity, as I have yet to use it. I don't hold high hopes for this product.
5. Tonymoly Delight Tint Crayon Neon in 05 Neon Orange - 2.8g (RRP: $8)
"Sweet and vivid under the daylight, Tonymoly's Delight Tint Crayon Neon goes wild under UV lights with its electric neon colours! It melts onto lips like a lip balm with a long-lasting radiance and is easy to use with its auto-type packaging.
How to use: Apply directly to lips."

I never really got into the neon trend, and I still am not into it. I was going to give this away, but decided to swatch it anyway, hoping that it wouldn't be too scary as it's a tint. I must say that it's quite impressively pigmented for a tint! I have yet to apply it on my lips as the swatch is fairly scary (see below).

6. Tonymoly Mini Peach Lip Balm - 7g (RRP: $7)
"This adorable mini-sized lip balm comes in the size of a large coin and is scented with a lovely fruity peach fragrance that lingers on your lips long after application. Its peach and shea butter formula is also extremely nourishing and leaves lips moist and supple.
How to use: Apply directly to lips as often as needed."
I thought I had one of these lip balms, as I swear I've seen it somewhere, but I can't find it. It smells delicious, so I guess it can't hurt even if this is a spare.

7. Tonymoly Back Gel Eye Liner Long Brush in 03 Pearl Brown - 4g (RRP: $10)
"A best-selling gel liner that comes with a brush of its own and boosts its super waterproof and long-lasting formula. The eyeliner glides on smoothly and precisely, then quickly dries down to a long-wearing, water-resistant finish.
How to use: Use the attached brush to apply the formula to lids."

I've been using this eyeliner this week, and it's fantastic! I love how natural this looks on me (see swatch below). I did use a separate eyeliner brush to apply this eyeliner. It lasted all day on my lids (but then again, I don't normally have a problem with eyeliner disappearing on me). However, the swatch was hard to remove and required proper eye makeup remover.

L-R: Tint Crayon Neon; Gel Eye Liner; Luminous Goddess Aura Beam
Overall, I'm quite happy with this Tony Moly memebox. Although, I could do without the egg soap, and possibly a different tint crayon.

Have you jumped on the memebox bandwagon yet? If so, which boxes have you purchased?
