I purchased this Tony Moly Memebox with the Holika Holika one, which I have reviewed previously (read here). I am familiar with Tony Moly, which is a Korean brand. However, I have not tried many of their products.
As I purchased both boxes as a set, I qualified for a free express shipping upgrade. I paid USD$66.99 for both boxes, which works out to be USD$33.50 per box. Although it is a bit expensive, it definitely does help knowing that all the products included are full-sized ones. Unfortunately, both boxes have sold out but there are plenty more to choose from on their website (click here).
1. Tonymoly Panda's Dream White Magic Cream - 50g (RRP: $12)
"A skin brightening and perfecting cream that locks in moisture and brightens dull complexions. This super nourishing cream will bring vitality back to skin while evening out the skin tone. Skin will feel soft and smooth after each application without the greasiness. The adorable panda packaging and the light fruit scent is an added bonus!
How to use: Apply directly to skin at the end of skincare routine."
Screw the product! Look at the Panda packaging... I can't even...
2. Tonymoly Apple Tox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream - 80g (RRP: $11)
"This is a multi-cream enriched with green apple extracts, AHA, and papaya extracts and which works as a massaging, moisturizing, and peeling cream all in one. Green apple extracts rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin C, and pectinic acid are effective agents as skin exfoliators and revitalizers.
How to use: Spread evenly over clean, dried face, avoiding the eyes and the mouth. Gently massage for 1-2 minutes and leave it on like a facial pack for 20-30 seconds. Again, gently roll with your fingertips to peel away any excess dead skin cells and rinse off with lukewarm water."
When I read the name of this product, I was really turned off. Something about the words "massage" and "peeling" in the product name just seems so unappealing and scary, let alone knowing the product is for your face! However, after reading the description and the "how to use" instructions, I am not as turned off and would give it a fair go before I get all judgemental again. Wish me luck.
3. Tonymoly Egg Pore Shiny Skin Soap - 50g x 2 (RRP: $9)
"A 5 in 1 Egg Soap that works to deliver moisture, nutrition, deep cleansing effect, sebum control, and pore care. It's made from fertile eggs soaked in vinegar for 1-2 weeks, a process that maximizes the level of calcium, protein, vitamin, amino acid, and various minerals found in eggs.
How to use: Lather well and gently massage the face for 1-2 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. It can be used as a facial cleanser or a pack."
This product also turned me off. Having mostly oily skin, I tend to shy away from products that promotes "shiny" skin. I was hoping that I would change my mind after reading the description, but I was (and still am) even more turned off. Smearing fertile egg essence on my face just doesn't sound appealing to me. Furthermore, my inner animal-cruelty conscience is protesting and kicking up a stink.
