Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Nude Foundation

Rimmel has released two new lasting finish foundations, and this Lasting Finish 25HR Nude Foundation is one of them (the other being, Lasting Finish 25HR Foundation with Comfort Serum). The Lasting Finish 25 HR Nude Foundation is meant to be a lightweight, long-lasting, transfer-proof foundation for a more natural finish.

The Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude foundation provides a medium coverage without feeling too heavy and uncomfortable. The coverage was good enough for me to skip on concealer on fairly good skin days when I have no pimples to conceal, leaving me with a practically flawless face.

Adding to the pros list, this foundation was a dream to blend into the skin (as usual, I only used my fingers). It also smells pleasant without being too overbearing and the addition of SPF20 is fantastic for extra sun protection

This foundation is housed in a solid glass bottle with a pump. Although the glass bottle is not all that travel friendly (or clumsy-people friendly), the pump is fantastic, as it dispenses the perfect amount of product.

At the end of the day with one blot.
I picked this nude version over the comfort serum, as I thought it might be better for my oily skin. Unfortunately, my face was just an oily mess at the end of the day (which I think goes against Rimmel's 25 hour long-lasting claim). I normally get away with blotting my face once a day. However, I found myself needed to blot at least twice a day with this foundation. Furthermore, the makeup on my face just grew more uncomfortable as the day went by. Taking off my makeup at the end of the day felt as good as relieving oneself after busting to go to the toilet after several hours. This is a deal breaker for me, despite the amazing coverage and flawless complexion. As such, I would probably recommend this foundation if you have dry to normal skin. I will have to give this foundation another fair go in winter, when my skin will (hopefully) be less oily.

The Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Nude Foundation is available in 5 shades and retails for $17.95.

  1. Bummer that it didn't work for you, it looks great on x

  2. That's unfortunate to hear it didn't work out! It does look gorgeous on you, but the oiliness and uncomfort definitely sound like things to avoid. Great review :)
