Empties: January 2015

I may or may not have cheated when putting together this empties post. Keeping reading to find out why and what I did...

I went to the city for a girls day out last weekend. I decided to exchange some of my Lush containers for a new scrub after finishing Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub (which was amazing and would highly recommend, as you can either use it as a harsh scrub on dry skin or a milder one on wet/damp skin), and African Paradise Body Conditioner (which is one of the new releases - it's a pretty good body conditioner. It smells great but leaves a little bit of an oily residue on your skin. However, it's not oily enough to bother me). I then digged through my Lush stash and found a dried up tub of Mask of Magnaminty (I'm quite upset at myself for forgetting about this and not using it up... I also can't believe how tiny the new tubs of masks are now - they're now 75g!) I also found H'Suan Wen Hua hair moisturizer, which I did not (and still do not) like. I absolutely hated the smell of it, and could not stand having it in my hair.  The last Lush tub I found was Retread, which I also forgot I had and had to throw out the contents because it was over a year old and didn't smell very good.

I love the MAC Brush Cleanser to spot clean and deep clean my brushes. It removes all the makeup from my brushes easily without ruining the bristles. It is a pretty expensive cleanser, but it has lasted me ages (although this may be due to me not washing my brushes as often as I should).

I've done a review on the Matrix Oil Wonders Micro-Oil Shampoo (read here). My thoughts has't changed since the review was published. However, I probably wouldn't be re-purchasing this shampoo, as I like a shampoo with a good lather.

As mentioned in my previous Empties posts, this is my last bottle of Dove Body Wash. I still prefer my Bath & Body Works shower gels over Dove, but would definitely repurchase Dove if I couldn't get Bath & Body Works anymore.

I also did a review of Jurlique Clarifying Deep Cleansing Gel (read here). It's a good daily cleanser despite having exfoliating microbeads, as it's an extremely gentle exfoliator.

I wasn't all that impressed with the Jurlique Purifying Foaming Cleanser though! I didn't find it refreshing, neither did I find that it foamed up all that much. Also, I didn't notice any change in my skin in terms of oiliness. It is still as oily as before I started using this cleanser.

Love how moist the Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets are! These makeup removing sheets are fantastic at removing all my makeup. It doesn't sting my eyes when I try to remove my stubborn mascara and eyeliner too! Furthermore, it doesn't leave my skin feeling yucky after. Unfortunately, I don't think this can be purchased in Australia (bought this in Singapore, and will definitely be purchasing this again the next time I'm over there).

Found a sample of the Agave Healing Oil Treatment. I did purchase a full sized bottle of this treatment, which I have finished and featured in one of my previous Empties post. It's helps with frizziness, and adds a bit of moisture back into dry damaged locks. Also love that this can be used on both wet and dry hair.
I initially didn't think much of Glamglow masks until I was without them. The Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment Masque is amazing! I can't actually decide whether I like this or the original one better. They're both fantastic masks for different reasons. This Tinglexfoliate leaves my skin feeling so soft. I love that it has exfoliants as I do not have to bother with a separate exfoliator after. The original one (super clearing) is great for treating pimples.
Poshe topcoat is a great alternative to Seche Vite, which is supposedly bad for you. It is a great fast drying, high shine top coat. I do have another bottls of Poshe topcoat, as I tend to buy them in bulk (along with Seche Vite) from ebay. :)

I really enjoyed the Benefit They're Real mascara (deluxe sized). It's a great mascara for defining your lashes whilst adding some volume and a bit of length. However, the spikes on the mascara wand will hurt if you do accidentally poke yourself in the eye... I may or may not be speaking from experiences. Would definitely look at repurchasing the full size of this mascara!

And that concludes my January empties. What have you emptied recently that is a must-have?

  1. They're Real mascara is amazing, but even with primer, it gets all smudgy on me :(

I recently finished Urban Decay's primer potion, and that's a definite must have for my oily lids!

  5. I didn't know that you can exchange your empty containers for a new one with Lush. How many containers for 1 new product?
