LookFantastic Beauty Box - February 2015

My February LookFantastic Beauty Box came a lot faster than the January box, which is great!

For a one-box purchase of £15, you will get 6 products. It works out to be about AUD$30 for the box, or $5 per product. Although it is quite expensive compared to some of the Australian beauty boxes on the market (e.g. Bellabox, Lust Have It), it is nice to receive something other than ModelCo or other brands that have been flogged so much on the Australian beauty box market. Furthermore, no additional charges for shipping also sweetens the deal.

Besides the one off box purchase, there are plans available that can save you money in the long run - 3 month plans (£40, save £5), 6 month plans (£75, save £15) and 12 month plans(£135, save £45).

1. Dr. PawPaw Multipurpose Original Clear Balm for Lips, Skin, Hair & Beauty - 10ml (RRP: £6.95 for 25ml)
"Meet DR Paw Paw, the original balm you can’t live without! Our paw paw lip balm is made in the UK from a variety of natural ingredients including paw paw, which, blended together, create a multi-purpose formula for you to carry around at all times.
Our main ingredient is fermented Pawpaw, the fruit of the plant Carica Papaya. The Pawpaw has been found to have natural healing qualities and is believed by many to be the finest natural medicine yet discovered. This genius product has a variety of uses, from skin protector and moisturiser to nappy cream and lip finisher. The balm also has healing properties and can be used on sun burn, skin irritations and as a hair conditioning treatment – whatever your use for it, we guarantee you will be delighted with the satisfyingly smooth finish!"

I love that this is such a multi-functional product that can also be used on the hair. I should really test this out before my holidays next Monday, as I think this would be perfect for travelling!

2. Moroccanoil Treatment - 25ml (RRP: £13.45 for 25ml)
"Hair that’s silky, healthy, shiny and full of life. Moroccanoil® Treatment is the product that pioneered oil-infused hair care and created the worldwide buzz on argan oil. An essential foundation for hairstyling that can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. Infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil, strengthening proteins and shine-enhancing vitamins, this completely transformative treatment detangles, speeds up drying time and boosts shine – leaving hair smooth, manageable and nourished with each use. Discover the original."

I don't mind the ole' Moroccanoil Treatments. Although I didn't find them all that moisturizing (back when I used to use it a couple of years ago), but it helped with frizz. Love the travel friendly sized bottle!

3. MONU Professional Skincare Illuminating Primer - 20ml (RRP: £24.95 for 50ml)
"MONU Illuminating Primer SPF15 smooths the skin and reduces the appearance of imperfections to leave you with a long-lasting radiance and provide the perfect base for your make-up. Containing Mica to add a natural glow, zinc oxide to protect against UV damage, Cassia Alata Leaf Extract to reduce the signs of ageing and vitamin E to combat free radicals, the paraben-free primer can be used on its own or under make up to give you a perfect finish."

One can never have enough primers (or foundations or blushes or eyeliners or mascaras... you catch my drift). Although I'm not sure my oily face needs any help in the "illuminating" department.

4. Bellapierre Cosmetics Natural Lip Liner in Natural - 1.8g (RRP: £16.00)
"Prepare your lips for the application of lipstick with the Bellapierre Cosmetics Lip Pencils. Made from 100% pure mineral pigments that are kind to the delicate skin on your lips, the nautral botanical waxes such as jojoba, safflower and vitamin E create waterproof wear so the colour stays in place even after eating or drinking. Available in four fantastic shades ranging from subtle and natural to dramatic and daring, the pencils are easy to control and apply, meaning creating wonderful lip definition has never been easier."

Is it me or does this lip liner looks way too dark to be a "natural" shade? I don't normally wear lip liners, so I will most likely give this away.

5. Korres Citrus Little Body Milk - 50ml (RRP: £10.00 for 200ml)
"Citrus uplifting, clean and fresh with surprising tenacity body milk. Moisturising body milk with an exceptional powdery texture. Rich in trace elements that "awaken" the epidermis with an energy boost to skin cells. The combination of provitamin B5, Shea butter and Jojoba oil enhances the suppleness of the skin, while also providing long-lasting hydration. Active Aloe®, extremely rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, Zinc and antioxidant enzymes, supports the immune system of the skin."

This body milk has an extremely strong masculine scent. It's not a bad one if you don't mind smelling like a man. On the plus side it sinks into the skin really quickly and feels quite moisturising.

6. Erno Laszlo Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar - 17g/0.6oz (RRP: £45.00 for 142g/5oz)
"Keep your normal, combination or slightly oily skin feeling clean and smooth with the Erno Laszlo Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar. Formulated with an expert blend of 26 different minerals, the bar is made using 97% natural ingredients. Enriched with therapeutic Dead Sea mud which detoxifies, hydrates and restores the skin's mineral levels, the bar also gently exfoliates your skin to remove dead cells and leave your complexion looking brighter. Circulation will be dramatically improved, and blackheads, dirt and impurities will be removed, without stripping your skin of essential oils."

Holy crap batman! That's nearly AUD$90 for a bar of soap, and it's made of mud! I really hope this doesn't work for me.

That's it for February's edition of LookFantastic Beauty Box. Not sure if I will be purchasing March yet, as February's is so-so. Also, I don't even know if I'll have any money left after my trip to Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore (I leave on Monday)!

  1. This box looks amazing ! I had no idea they had boxes like these available in Australia. I had only heard of the Lust Have It box which is pretty great. The price point is great for the products received!

  3. I've heard such great things about the Dr Paw Paw balm, the Moroccan Oil is fab on the ends of my hair, just looks a little greasy if it's near the roots :)
