Empties: March 2015

As I finished some products whilst I was overseas in March, I didn't want to cart empty bottles and packaging back to Australia, as I'd much rather have the space in my luggage for new stuff. As a result, I don't have a collective photo of all my empties this month.

I brought about half a travel sized bottle of Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner with me. I should have tested it out before I brought it along, as I think it was off. I ended up pouring the contents down the drain.

This was the second time the Redken Diamond-oil Shampoo came with my overseas. Whilst it's a good shampoo, I was glad to finally finish it and make more room in my luggage for new and better things. Although it didn't irritate my sensitive scalp, I didn't find it all that moisturizing, which is one of the claims of this shampoo. Therefore, I wouldn't repurchase.

I was using the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence in replace of a toner. I'm sure I've mentioned this product before somewhere on my blog, but I honestly do not think it's worth the money. I wouldn't purchase a full size bottle of this treatment essence, as I didn't see/notice any improvements in my skin (this opinion is based on a larger bottle used previously).

KatVonD Un-lock It Makeup Remover Wipes were extremely moist. So much so that they were soaking wet with product. I don't really mind this, as I much prefer wet remover wipes than dry ones. They felt a bit slimy on the skin and made me feel like I needed to wash my face after. However, since I do normally take a shower straight after removing my makeup, this doesn't really concern me.  They weren't the best at completely removing my eye makeup though. As such, I most likely wouldn't be repurchasing this, as I feel there are better makeup remover wipes on the market.

Surprisingly enjoyed using the Palmolive Ayurituel energy shower gel, it smelt pleasant and didn't dry out my skin too much (used this in Japan & Hong Kong, where the weather was on the colder side).

I finished another mini bottle of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. I don't think these were full when I brought them with me though.

I "stole" this Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Body Lotion from the hotel in Japan. I wasn't expecting to like this, but this lotion is soooo moisturizing and it smells good! Doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky, and doesn't take long to sink into my skin. It's making me want to purchase a bottle!

Bifesta Tightening Cleaning Sheets are great makeup cleansing wipes. They are effective (although does not completely remove waterproof mascara and stubborn eyeliner) and do not leave any sticky residue on my skin. Only wish this was readily available in Australia (this was purchased in Singapore).

I enjoyed using the NKD Hair Citrus Mask. Whilst it's not the most moisturizing mask I've ever used, it's still a pretty good one. It did put some moisture back into my extremely damaged, bleached blonde locks, and it smells pretty good too! Have already repurchased. :)

Honestly didn't think much of the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Conditioner. Sure it helped detangle my hair and added a bit of moisture back into my hair, but it's nothing to write home about. Wouldn't repurchase.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System has been reached for everyday since day 1. I love that it lengthens and adds volume to my short lashes without clumping. I would definitely look into repurchasing this.

I really enjoyed using the Tarte The Brow Architect in Fair-Light, as it's super easy to use to get natural looking brows. This shade is also perfect for my bleached blonde hair too! I've been looking for an alternative, but have yet to find one. Would definitely repurchase this!

I did not like the Ole Henriksen The Clean Truth Cleansing Cloths. It was rubbish at removing my makeup, and it was so dry. Would not recommend these at all.

Benefit The Porefessional is a great primer if silicon based primers works for you. This is my second or third tube, and I really like it. I feel like I keep going back to this primer. Would probably repurchase again.

I can't believe how long this Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer in shade 7 lasted me (I think it has lasted nearly two years)! This is a fantastic concealer for blemishes and a little goes a long way. It lasts all day on my skin (provided you don't touch it), and doesn't break me out further. Would highly recommend this, and I have already repurchased.

I'm cheating a little with the inclusion of this Vanessa Megan Love Scrub in my empties. I emptied this out in a old Laura Mercier Scrub jar, so technically, I have emptied the packet... right?! I have done a review last month (read here), and my thoughts have not changed since.

I loved this Marilyn Hair Moisturizer by Lush (sample) so much that I actually bought two jars! One from Japan and another from Singapore. I have nearly finished the Japanese one, and kind of wished I purchased more. It's a pre-conditioner that has injected life into my dry damaged locks. Would definitely repurchase, as it's a fantastic pre-conditioner.

I am throwing out the Mario Badescu Drying Cream because it has changed in texture. This is a fantastic drying cream, I just wish it didn't stink so much! I would recommend this for all you acne-prone ladies if you don't mind the smell of sulfur.

Similarly, I have to throw this Mario Badescu Drying Mask out because of the change in texture. It is similar to the drying cream in that its fantastic for it's purpose (to dry out those nasty pimples), but it stinks.

I didn't think much of the Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer. It's a decent moisturizer for my oily skin, but I really don't know if I would repurchase, as it was nothing to write home about.

I really enjoyed using the Palmolive Strawberry Smoother Exfoliating Body Wash, however I got really annoyed with it towards the end because it looks like I have a heap of product left, but nothing comes out! I know.. first world problems, but still annoying. However, this probably wouldn't deter me from repurchasing, although I do prefer my Bath & Body Works shower gels.
Chloe de Roses EDT is one of my favourite perfumes ever! Actually, I take that back. It's my favourite perfume! I have already repurchased this! The only con is that I wish there was a EDP version, as it doesn't last as long as I would like it to.
Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia is one of my favourite Jo Malone fragrances. Would highly recommend if you love floral/fruity scents.
That's it for March's empties! What have you emptied recently?

  3. I completely agree about the Ole Henriksen cleansing cloths. I don't understand why they're so hyped; they're bad!

  4. Wow that's a ton of stuff! I tried the Kat V D makeup wipes at sephora yesterday and couldn't stand the smell! Not sure if it's the same one as yours. Peter thomas roth toiletries at hotels are the best!! I need to collect up my empties soon.

Would love if you check out my blog! Just followed you on twitter and instagram :)

  5. It's just the drying range that I hate. The cucumber cleansing lotion smells pretty good. Also have the healing cream (before it was discontinued :() which smells alright too!

  7. Are there any Ole Henriksen products you like? Am quite new to the brand, and haven't gotten off to a good start with the cleansing cloths.

  8. None that I've come across so far. I have normal/dry skin and I find that most products cater better to oilier complexions.
