Review: Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Tint-In-Oil

Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Tint-in-Oil is such an interesting product. I certainly do not have anything similar in my makeup collection. As the name suggests, it's a deep conditioning lip oil infused with a tint. The two shades that I own and will be reviewing are I Rose You 4 and Pink About Me 8.

The YSL Tint-in-Oil is housed in a gorgeous sleek tube, which is what one would expect for a lip gloss. The applicator wand is diamond/leaf shaped with a bend and a hole in the middle. The bend in the wand enables it to caress your lips and I'm assuming the hole in the middle is to pull out adequate product for each application.

Texture wise, this is to absolute die for. It's like a cross between an oil (as you can expect), lip balm and lip gloss. It's extremely lightweight and comfortable on the lips (this is coming from someone who hates stuff on her lips), and it doesn't feel oily or sticky.

As with most YSL products, these Tint-in-Oils are quite heavily perfumed. They have a fruity scent, like mangoes, which I adore.

I was quite surprised at how pigmented these lip products were for a lip tint, especially Pink About Me. It takes about 10-30 seconds for the colour to develop on your lips. Both shades enhance the natural hue of my lips, whilst providing hydration to my dry lips. Unfortunately, they aren't super glosses and do wear off quite quickly with eating and/or drinking. Without eating or drinking, they last about an hour or two.

Whilst I Rose You and Pink About Me look extremely similar in my swatches above (especially the lip swatch), Pink About Me is definitely a deeper pinkish purple than I Rose You, which looks a lot more natural on my lips.

Overall, I really love these Tint-in-Oils and am seriously considering buying more shades. I would highly recommend these if you're after a nourishing lip product with a hint of colour.
