Empties: May 2015

I can't believe we're near the half way mark of 2015 already! I've been quite pleased with myself for finishing another foundation. I feel like celebrating by purchasing another (not that I need one) :P

Essential Moisturizing Frizz-Free Treatment
I loved the normal Essential mask that comes in a tub, and thought this treatment in a tube would produce similar results (I also love that it comes in a tube, as it's so much more shower friendly). Unfortunately, this was not the case. My hair was still quite tangly and definitely required serums and /or leave-in conditioning stuff to add moisture to my dry, damaged locks. Perhaps it's because my hair is pretty much damaged beyond repair after all the bleaching (when I used the mask in a tub, my hair wasn't bleached blonde).
P.S. This treatment was purchased in Singapore, and as far as I know, it can't be obtained from a brick and mortar store in Australia.

It's a 10 Miracle Hair Mask
I had high hopes for this hair mask after hearing such great things about It's a 10. Unfortunately, similar to the Essential treatment above, this didn't provide enough moisture for my hair, especially since it costed a fortune (purchased mine from strawberrynet when they had a sale).

Bath & Body Works Hawaii Passionfruit Kiss Shower Gel
As always, I love my B&BW shower gels. This is no exception. Would repurchase a thousand times over. I wish B&BW would hurry up and open a store in Sydney already.

Wotnot Facial Wipes
Wotnot facial wipes are one of my favourite wipes. They're so soft and gentle on the skin. They are also amazing at removing most of my makeup (my waterproof mascara and eyeliner need a bit of eye makeup remover to remove completely). I also love that these wipes don't leave my skin feeling yucky after. Although, I do cleanse my skin using my beloved Clarisonic and face cleanser after. Would definitely repurchase.

Kate Somerville Detox Daily Cleanser
I still don't know how I feel about this Kate Somerville Detox Daily Cleanser. It's not a cleanser to write home about. However, it's not a horrible cleanser either. It didn't dry my skin out, but I don't think it helped with my acne-prone skin (i.e. it didn't prevent pimples from appearing on my face). I guess this is an ok cleanser, but it isn't one that I would rush out to repurchase.

Garnier Perfect Blur Smoothing Base Perfector
This primer reminds me a whole lot of Benefit's Porefessional. It does help reduce the appearance of pores, but if you have dry flakey skin, it doesn't really help with that. When used over the top of some moisturizers or under some foundations, this primer can be rubbed off your face into little balls (anyone else get this sometimes with primers, especially silicone based ones?). I probably wouldn't repurchase, as I do have other primers I prefer like the Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer (see below).

Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Foundation
This foundation ticked so many boxes that I did a review last year (read here). It's a fantastic light-medium coverage foundation for normal-oily skin. The only thing/con I have to mention is that it's such a pain to get product out when nearing the end because the applicator wand thing doesn't reach all the way down the bottom of the bottle. Also, as you near the end of the product, the wand doesn't pick up enough product and you have to repeatedly go in for more. However, this foundation is absolutely fantastic and I can overlook this con. I am seriously contemplating repurchasing this foundation.

Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer
Love this primer. It certainly helps mattify my skin, which is my biggest concern when it comes to foundations - having oily skin, I hate shine on my face. I love the texture of it and it feels light on my skin. I have already repurchased this!

Etude House Nail Polish Remover
This nail polish remover has been featured in numerous empties posts, so I won't go too much into detail. I absolutely love this remover, and have like a gazillion back ups.

Uriage Aquaprecis Moisturizing Refreshing Cream Gel
I have dehydrated oily skin at the moment (i.e. dry, flakey skin in the morning and super oily in the afternoon). Unfortunately these cream gels did nothing for my skin. It smells nice though :)

Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara
Unfortunately I didn't get as much use out of this mascara as I hoped before it dried out. I've been so preoccupied trying to use up my crappier mascaras that I've neglected this amazing mascara. :(

29 Cosmetics D'vine mascara in Dark Brown
Similar to the Lancome mascara, this was neglected too, although for different reasons. I didn't reach for this mascara much because of it's dark brown shade (I much prefer black mascaras). In case you were wondering, why I purchased a dark brown mascara if I only used black ones, this mascara was came in one of my Wantable boxes.

That's it for May's empties. What have you emptied lately?
