I thought I'd share my experience purchasing from Charlotte Tilbury. When I learnt that Charlotte Tilbury (CT) will be shipping to Australia and having a dedicated "Australian" website, I was over the moon. I was trying to mentally prepare myself for exorbitant prices (over the top of CT's already high prices), which seems to be the norm for us Aussies. When the Australian website launched about 2 weeks ago, I was pleased to see that the prices aren't all that different from the British one. It was extremely comparable, and it definitely made me feel easier about doing a sneaky purchase.
I really wanted to try her K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick, and being a bit of a blush whore, I decided to go with the lipstick/blush set aka 6 Shades of Love in Love Glow for $100 (purchase here). It comes with the lipstick shade Bitch Perfect and Cheek to Chic blush in Love Glow. As I was one of the first to make an order, I was also sent a jar of Charlotte's Magic Cream.
Delivery was fast. The order was placed on 18 June 2015, despatched on 19 June 2015 and received on 24 June 2015.
My order was beautifully wrapped and package. I would rate it a 10 out of 10. In fact, I'd rate the whole experience a 10 out of 10... until I found out that my lipstick was "faulty".
(Sorry for the blurry photo, as it was taken with my iPhone)
When I removed the cap of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipstick, the actual lipstick flew out. Although I do understand that there will be a minority of products that are faulty in a production line no matter how luxurious a brand is, I was a bit disappointed to have received one. It is after all worth $48!
I sent an email to CT's Australian email with the photo explaining what has happened, and I'm yet again disappointed at how long it takes to get a response (6 days in case you were wondering). They want me to return the faulty lipstick but I've misplaced (and my have accidentally thrown out) the free returns form. Oops. I shall attempt to sit and wait patiently for further instructions. Hopefully it doesn't take another 6 days...
If you are thinking about making a CT purchase, I'd suggest you step on it and do it (despite the rather crappy customer service) before 17 July 2015 to get free shipping! Shipping is normally $10 for orders less than $150, and free for orders over $150.
