Empties: September 2015

Is it me or has 2015 just flown by? It's less than 3 months till Christmas, which I'm extremely excited about because I am going to do an advent swap with someone from USA (an advent swap is a swap whereby you include 25 gifts for each day in December till Christmas day, sort of like a chocolate advent calendar).

It seems like I've managed to use up quite a number of haircare products this month (pats self on back), so I'm going to start with them.

John Frieda Beach Blonde Cold Dip Purifying Shampoo
Can't really say I loved this shampoo. I wasn't a fan of the minty smell, and my hair did get quite tangled after using this shampoo. I just didn't enjoy using this shampoo and found myself using a heap at a time to finish this product quicker.
Natural Look Silver Screen Ice Blonde Shampoo
This ginormous bottle of shampoo has lasted me at least 9 months (although I've only been washing my hair once every 2-4 days). This shampoo is pretty jam packed with purple pigment, which is perfect for blondies to keep brassiness away. I highly recommend this shampoo, as well as the Silver Screen Ice Blond Conditioner.
Joico Color Endure Violet Conditioner
I was really impressed with Joico's Violet Shampoo when I used it a while ago. It was comparable to Natural Look's Ice Blonde Shampoo, and thought the conditioner would be the same too. Unfortunately, I was let down. The Violet conditioner is not as good as Natural Look's version in keeping brassiness away, as it's lacking in purple pigment. I also didn't find it all that moisturizing and had to slather on another conditioner or mask to compensate. As such, I would not be repurchasing this.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oleo-Complexe
I used this on towel dried hair, and it definitely helped keep my hair smooth and kept frizz down to a minimum. This elixir can also be used as a pre-shampoo treatment, which made my hair feel less tangled and slightly more moisturized. I would consider repurchasing this.

Bath & Body Works Beautiful Day shower gel
An empties post would not be complete without me raving about B&BW shower gels. This one smelt like apples, and it was oh-so-yummy. Really enjoyed this shower gel, and as always would definitely repurchase.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
I don't know how I feel about this cleanser. I thought it was an OK cleanser, but it's not making me want to jump and shout about it. It didn't break me out nor did it make my skin feel (too) tight. So I guess I can't complain too much about it.
Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets
I absolutely adore these makeup removing wipes. They're amazing at removing makeup, smells pleasant, and doesn't leave any yucky residue. The only con is that it's not available in stores in Australia - this was purchased in Singapore, and I'll be stocking up when I go back in November.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch #1
Argh! So annoyed that the clicker button at the end of this Touche Eclat stopped working. I'm pretty sure there is more product in this. This is brilliant at brightening up the under eye area, and I'm so sad that I have to throw this out. Would consider repurchasing.
LUMA Daring Curves Mascara in Jet Black
This mascara did not last long before the formula changed, compared to other mascaras in my possession. It's a fairly decent volumising mascara, but that's about it. I wouldn't repurchase, as I feel there are better mascaras on the market.
ModelCo Mascara
This ModelCo mascara has been sitting in my drawer unused for the longest time, and thought it's about time I threw it out. I don't really have much to say about this mascara, as I rarely used it.

Mirenesse 4D Secret Lash Evolution Mascara
Mirenesse is a brand that I've come to dislike. I hate how they advertise "free samples/products" and charge an absolute fortune for shipping. However, I thought this mascara was good, but not good enough for me to want to overlook the Mirenesse policy of "free samples, just pay stupid amounts of shipping charges". As such, will not be repurchasing.
Lancome Grandiose Mascara
Admittedly, I've had this mascara for ages. The formula hasn't changed though but I'm going to have to throw this out because the cap doesn't screw on properly anymore. :'( The brush is so unique and the formula is amazing. Read full review here.

That's it for this month's empties. What have you emptied?
