Current Cleansers - Frank Creamy Face Cleanser & Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment

I have had extraordinarily amazing skin lately, even during that time of the month. I think the cleansers I am currently using have played a massive role in the lack of blemishes over the past couple of months (although, the pill has probably also helped). So I thought I'd share the love by showcasing the two cleansers responsible for my clear skin.

For references, I have oily, blemish-prone skin. I normally get a few blemishes when Aunt Flo visits, but the pill (as mentioned before) helps with preventing most from popping up. When I'm on the pill, I do get 1-2 each month, but was quite amazed when I've had consistently clear skin for the past 2 months.

In the mornings, I use the Frank Creamy Face Cleanser, which is high in anti-oxidants to fight free radicals that are responsible for damage and death of cells.

The key ingredients are:
 1. Green Coffee Bean extract - rejuvenates skin, improves firmness, reduces redness
2. Marshmallow Root & Echinacea extract - hydration
3. Charcoal - repairs and nourish skin
4. Coconut, Grape Seed & Sweet Almond Oils - hydration and soothes irritation. Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antibacterial to help with breakouts and skin infections. Grape seed and almond oils tighten, tones and treats skin imperfections.

Two pumps of Frank Creamy Face Cleanser
Frank Creamy Face Cleanser is a grey liquid cleanser, not quite as thick as a gel but not as thin as water. I use two pumps each time, as I feel like one pump is not quite enough (although it probably is).

This cleanser has quite a subtle scent - it's meant to be fragrance free, but I can smell a hint of an almond oil scent, which I personally do not mind at all.

I have found that this cleanser doesn't lather up much, and lives up to its name of a "creamy" cleanser. The lack of lather doesn't bother me, so no points lost in my book.

After cleansing, my skin just feels... clean, if not the VERY slightest bit tight. Nothing a light moisturizer can't fix though.

I use the Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment in the evening, when I shower. I massage the cleansing stick directly on my face, and then use my clarisonic to massage the cleanser into my skin.

This cleansing stick is meant to help draw out dirt, oil and impurities from your pores, and the key ingredients are:
1. Activated Bamboo Charcoal - absorbs toxins and impurities
2. Glycolic Acid - clarify skin, reducing wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.
3. Artichoke Leaf Extract - increase skin elasticity, prevents hyperpigmentation and brightens pore wall, which reduces the appearance of pore size.
4. Jojoba Leaf - prevent free radical damage and nourishes the skin.

It has a bit of a herbally scent (think Lush x Aesop), which I surprisingly love since I don't normally go for the herbally scents.

The cleansing stick packaging is innovative, as I've certainly haven't tried or seen a cleanser in a stick. It can get a bit messy sometimes, with grey liquid oozing out from the bottom of the tube, where you twist to expose more product. I have also had problems with this cleansing stick melting to the bottom of the tube - I've had to wind the base down (picture the shape of a wheel hub cap) to the bottom, and wind it back up to push the product up. To combat this, I've been storing the stick upside down. I think the melting issue might be due to the warmer weather. I'm considering putting it in the fridge to see what happens, but have been lazy/forget to do it.

This cleanser works well with the Clarisonic. The only problem is having to wash the bristles extremely thoroughly to get all the product out (the base of the bristles turns grey, and it's quite hard to rinse out).

Despite my skin feeling a little tight (slightly more than Frank's Creamy Cleanser) and the whole melty issue, I have been loving this cleanser. It just works, and my skin feels so clean, especially after a long day of work, wearing a full face of makeup.

Frank Creamy Cleanser and Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick are a perfect cleanser combination for me, and I'd highly recommend it if you've got blemish prone skin. I think Frank Creamy Cleanser would probably work for most skin types, whilst Boscia Cleansing Stick is probably best suited for those with oilier skin.

Frank Creamy Cleanser retails for AUD$19.95 and can be purchased here.
Unfortunately as far as I'm aware, the Boscia Cleansing Stick is not available in Australia. It retails for USD$28 and can be purchased from Sephora.
