Review: MooGoo Soothing MSM Cream

I don't know about you but I can't help myself when it comes to hot showers in winter. As a result, I get the dreaded winter itch - i.e. super itchy skin, which sometimes keeps me up at night. I have tried so many different lotions, body butters and oils, and none of them completely kept the itch away (that sounded so wrong...), until I tried this soothing MSM cream by MooGoo.

I should start from the beginning. I've heard of MooGoo quite a few years ago, and have actually tried one of their shampoos (I had an itchy scalp back then). Can't say I was all that impressed with it, as it didn't work.

A few weeks ago, I reached out to MooGoo and asked for a recommendation for a body product that will help with winter itch, as they are (in my opinion) more well known for body products rather than haircare. They recommended the Soothing MSM cream, so off I went to a pharmacy near work that stocked it. I left with a bottle of amazing, $24.95 poorer with no regrets.

Actually, I lie. I regret not buying this sooner.

This stuff is seriously amazing. I apply this on my skin after a shower each night. The first time I used this, the itch was about 95% gone. The next night, it went away completely. I have been religiously applying this on my legs (which gets the itchiest) ever since, and I don't really want to jinx it, but it's gone and hasn't returned!

The MooGoo Soothing MSM cream contains nothing but pure magic. And by pure magic, I mean natural ingredients - Aqua, sweet almond oil, olive fruit oil, coconut oil, plant based emulsifying wax, MSM organic sulfur, natural vitamin E, Aloe Vera leaf juice, Allantoin, Piracton Olamine, Guar Gum, food grade emulsifier, honey, apple cider vinegar, pear extract and hops extract.

As one could expect from a highly moisturising cream, it is a bit on the thicker side but not so thick that it feels like you're slathering on caramel on your skin (not that I've tried this, although it sounds mighty tasty). It does take a bit to rub it into your skin compared to your run-off-the-mill body lotion, but it's so worth it. You can totally pretend you're giving yourself a massage whilst you rub it in (giving yourself a massage is never as good as when someone does it for you :( )

I can't describe the smell of this, and it's driving me nuts! I want to say it has a nutty scent, but not quite. However, I can say with utmost confidence that it does not have a sweet or floral scent, and neither is it in-your-face nor offensive.

Anyway, I don't know what kind of sorcery this is, but it bloody works. If you suffer from winter itch, I highly recommend you run and get this now. You can thank me later. :)
