Favourite Rose Perfumes

I'm baaaack!!! To be honest, I wasn't even sure I was going to come back. I was struggling so badly juggling work, building my forever home, and living life in general that I just did not have the energy or motivation to continue blogging (although I have been posting regularly on Instagram). Receiving some really lovely messages from some of you has really helped motivate me to take some pictures today and start getting back to blogging.

I thought I'd keep my first post back nice and simple with my favourite rose perfumes. I've been obsessed with rose fragranced perfumes for quite a few years now. So I've thoroughly assaulted my nostrils trying to find the best rose perfumes everytime I go through the perfume department of Myer.

Jo Malone - Velvet Rose & Oud
The latest addition to my perfume collection. According to Jo Malone, Velvet Rose & Oud is  described as "Darkest mask rose. Rich and textural, wrapped with smoky oud wood. Spiked with clove, decadent with praline. Magnetic." It has a top note of clove (which funnily enough, I absolutely hate the taste of), heart note of damask rose and a base note of oud wood. Velvet Rose & Oud leans on the sweeter side, but is the perfect blend of rose (floral) and warmth and woody. I cannot get enough of this perfume, and have been using it everyday since I got it a couple of weeks ago.

Retails for $170 for 50ml (Myer) / $270 for 100ml (Jo Malone)

Chloe - Roses de Chloe
This is my second bottle of Roses de Chloe. Needless to say, I love this perfume! It's an eau de toilette, and as far as I'm aware, it doesn't have an eau de parfum version, which is slightly disappointing. It has top notes of bergamot, heart notes of damask rose and magnolia ad base notes of white musk and amber. Compared to the three perfumes featured in this blog post, Roses de Chloe is the most soft, fresh, floral scented of the three.

Retails for $90 for 30ml (Myer) / $110 for 50ml (Myer) / $150 for 75ml (Myer)

Tom Ford - Cafe Rose
This perfume does not technically belong to me - it belongs to my brother (although possession is 9/10ths of the law, right?). Yes, he does have exquisite taste. Cafe Rose has top notes of saffron, black pepper and may rose, heart notes of turkish rose, bulgarian rose and coffee, and base notes of incense, amber, sandalwood and patchouli. Compared to the three perfumes, Cafe Rose has more of a spicy rose scent. I'm not one for spicy scents, but this perfume is amazing! One of my life goals is to be able to fork out crazy money for a bottle of awesome aka Tom Ford Cafe Rose.

Retails for $340 for 50ml (David Jones) / $460 for 100ml (David Jones)

What is your favourite perfume? Do you have a particular scent that you go for?
