The Parcel - Winter Edition 2017

As the (rather annoying) saying goes "all good things must come to an end". I am quite sad to see The Parcel close up shop, as this is the last edit of The Parcel.

The Parcel has (mostly) consistently produced good value for money parcels, and it's just a shame to see this beauty subscription service end. I know there are a few beauty subscription services in Australia that are good, but most are quite expensive in comparison. I think I will be taking a break from beauty subscription boxes, as I do have quite a large collection of skincare/makeup/haircare products that I should really use up. But please let me know your favourite for when I get in one of my "treat yo self" moods and all logic goes out the window.

I'm glad that The Parcel went out with a bang with a box chock full of products. There are 11 products in total with a heap of skincare products.

Revlon Uniq One Hair Treatment - full size ($29.95 for 150ml)
Uniq One believes in a new approach to hair care, offering 10 benefits in one product to achieve spectacular results. Using the most advanced technology, multi-award winning Uniq One has revolutionised home and salon care all over the world.

I'm currently writing this review with freshly-ish washed dry hair, and unfortunately, this is only recommended for use on damp hair. I did try applying a bit on my arm for a sniff test. It smells kind of old lady-ish. Can't say I am a fan. I hope it performs better than it smells.

Klorane Mango Butter Shampoo - full size ($13.95 for 200ml)
Klorane shampoo with mango butter nourishes and restructures dry hair from the first wash with the nourishing properties of mango butter. It smooths the hair cuticle and fills the gaps in the hydrolipidic film that shields hair from dehydration. Protected from dryness, hair is once again soft, supple and light.

This on the other hand, smells absolutely delish! I am craving mangoes now. I've only ever tried dry shampoos from Klorane, so I hope this works as well as their dry shampoos!

Nivea Cellular Anti-Age Eye Cream - full size ($27.99 for 15ml)
Apply this rich, nourishing cream on clean skin before your regular day or night care. Squeeze the tube and apply small dots around the eye area. Gently pat the cream into the delicate skin around the eyes without pulling. Allow cream to be absorbed by the skin.

This is one of many anti-ageing skincare products in this box. I am absolutely terrible at being consistent with eye creams. I'm not even going to bother pretending I will use this, so this will be passed on to someone else aka mum.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser for Face and Eyes - 30ml ($50.00 for 480ml)
Philosophy's award-winning daily facial skin cleanser is formulated to gently cleanse, tone and melt away all face and eye make-up in one gentle, simple step, while lightly hydrating the skin.

This bottle of cleanser is perfect for travelling! I've heard so much about this cleanser by Philosophy, and I'm sure I have received samples of this but I have yet to try it. I don't know why! :'(

Nivea Cellular Anti-Age Volume Filling Pearls - 2ml ($32.95 for 30ml)
This unique formula of hyaluronic acid and collagen booster pearls reduces wrinkles and fine lines for a fuller, firmer and younger looking complexion. Suitable for sensitive skin types, apply daily to clean skin before your day or night routine, gently patting the serum around the eyes, neck and decolletage.

Another anti-ageing product that I will be passing on to mum.

La Roche-Posay Redermic C10 - 5ml ($69.95 for 30ml)
This anti-ageing serum combines 10% pure vitamin C with hyaluronic acid and vitamin E for hydrated, visibly plumper looking skin. An intensive corrective action reduces the look of wrinkles, reinforces skin's firmness and evens out the complexion to give skin luminosity.
Third anti-ageing product in this box. I would give this a go if I didn't already have a heap of skincare products (that are more suited for my skin type), so I will probably pass this one on too.
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask - 5ml ($35.00 for 75ml)
The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is a mud-textured exfoliating mask that deeply cleanses and detoxifies the skin. Free from parabens, silicone, mineral oils and paraffins, this mask is 100% vegetarian. Your pores will love the deep cleansing action that leaves skin smooth and glowing.
Finally a product that is suited to my skin type... except it's in a dread sachet. However, I'm still excited to give this a go when I feel like pampering myself.
Avon Magic Effects Matte Top Coat - full size ($14.99 for 10ml)
It's super easy to apply this magic top coat as ti glides on over any nail enamel. Avon Magic Effects Matte Top Coat seals your nail colour with a unique, matte finish that keeps your tips looking gorgeously fresh and our colour on-trend.
I'm definitely more of a glossy gal. But it's always nice to have a matte top coat on hand in the rare occasion that I feel like it.
Avon True Color Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Ravishing Rose - full size ($19.99 for 3.6g)
Traditional matte lipsticks are either too shiny, or so powdery that they cake and dry out your lips. Avon scientists have developed an ultimate fusion of pure matte ingredients to create Avon True Color Perfectly Matte Lipstick - the perfect balance between a 100% matte finish and lasting, wearable comfort.
Hot damn! The one and only makeup product in this box, and it's not a colour that suits. I'm so sad I feel like retail therapy is the only way to turn this frown upside down.
The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Australian Jojoba - 15ml ($19.95 for 30ml)
A powerful natural moisturiser for face and body, 100% natural Australian jojoba, is high in antioxidants and naturally contains vitamins A, D and E, as well as omega 6 and nine essential fatty acids. It naturally hydrates, while carrying its nutritious actives to the deepest layers of the skin.
I have tried this jojoba oil before, and whilst this is an excellent oil, I much prefer rosehip oil. I will keep this though (and use this... eventually).
QV Hand Cream - full size ($6.00 for 50g)
QV Hand Cream with SPF15 nourishes your hands while protecting them from the visible signs of ageing like sun spots, pigmentation and wrinkles. A luxurious non-greasy formula, this hand cream provides instant moisture to the skin, leaving your hands feeling soft all day long.
I'm also terrible when it comes to hand creams. I rarely use them. :( So this will most likely be passed on.
Whilst there are 11 products in the last edition of The Parcel, I would only use approximately half of them. I feel like this box was made for their more mature subscribers or those concern with anti-aging. I still think this beauty subscription is (or should I say was?) excellent value for money considering the amount of product you get for $25!
RIP The Parcel.
