Fenty Beauty First Impressions + Haul

There was so much hype with Rhianna's new makeup line "Fenty Beauty". I think the massive suspense and lack of information definitely heightened the hyper.

I dropped by Sephora during my lunch break with the intention of having a quick peek and maybe purchasing one or two items. I ended up spending far too long swatching and weaving in and out of the crowds surrounding the Fenty stand at Sephora Pitt St.
(P.S. They have a stand upstairs too, which was much quieter)

I'm disappointed that I didn't take photos whilst I was in the store, as everything was absolutely gorgeous and reasonably priced too!

I swatched a heap of highlighters, and they were quite glittery. I used several cotton pads and removers during my visit and still managed to walk out with glittery hands (although it washed away easily enough, maybe I didn't use enough makeup remover).

The first thing I saw was the huge array of foundation shades. They only had the one type of liquid foundation, which is the Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. And being a foundation freak, I had to get a bottle. They were AUD$50 a pop, which is reasonable in my opinion.

I have not used it yet, however I have noticed a fair bit of oxidisation when swatched. This was not limited to one shade. I've swatched about 4-5 shades trying to find my right shade, and they all oxidised. I eventually received assistance, as I wanted to get a sample with my purchase, just in case the shade was incorrect. I ended up getting matched to shade 180, which is a "Light Warm" shade. I thought I was a shade 120, which is "Light Neutral". I purchased 180, and got samples of both. I will definitely be doing a review shortly. However, it dried to a nice matte (slightly darker) shade on the back of my hand and neck where the sales assistant applied some to colour match.

The highlighters were the second thing I looked at. They ALL swatched so beautifully. So pigmented, soft and gorgeous. I'm a sucker for the whiter highlighters, so I went for duo (because that's like getting two shades for the price of one!) in shade Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal. I'm obsessed with these - it was love at first swatch. See below for swatches.

The Duos are AUD$50 each, but you can get the single pan highlighters too - they're also $50 each.

I also picked up the Match Stix Trio. You can get Match Stix individually for AUD$37 each or the trio for $79. I practically saved money by purchasing the trio.

I was matched to Medium 200, which contains contour shade Mocha, highlighter shade Trippin and concealer shade Bamboo. I much prefer the highlighter shade Starstruck, but unfortunately that was only available in the Light trio, and the concealer shade is a bit too light for my skintone.

The Match Stix are magnetic (the sales assistant was super excited about this for some reason, but I think it's a bit of a gimmick and not all that necessary). They are super pigmented and blendable though, which is the main reason why I purchased them.

I'm so excited to use these bad boys tomorrow morning! I have no plans on leaving my house tomorrow but that doesn't mean I can't walk around the house with a full face of Fenty makeup right?

I'm also so impressed (thus far), that I've placed an online order for more Fenty! I purchased the two full sized brushes as well as the primer.

Have you purchased any Fenty products? What are your thoughts?
